The current state of my grimoire

Everything in blue are categories I haven't completed. Black but not numbered are things I have completed but can't organise yet due to other chapters not being finished.

Everything is a mess but it's way easier to work through than when I was writing a physical book.

Not including contents and references I have 135 pages total and a 40,160 word count holy shit. 80 of those pages have been printed and stuck in a folder for proof reading purposes.

I have no idea how big this is going to get but I think when I reach 200 pages I should do something special. I have never written this much in my life.

We just had our first snow of the year where I live and I decided to make a book of shadows entry about snow magick! I figured some of you could find it useful :) ❄️❄️❄️

🌻Oils for your Garden

Insect Deterrent:

10 drops Rosemary oil

10 drops Peppermint oil

10 drops Thyme oil

10 drops Clove oil

Combine oils in a spray bottle and fill the rest of the way with water. Spray anywhere you want to get rid of insects.

Fungus Supressant:

In a small spray bottle, combine 20 drops of melaleuca oil and water. Spray directly onto infected plants once or twice weekly.

Veggie and Fruit Wash:

Fill your kitchen sink up with cold water. Add 1/2 cup of white vinegar and 6 drops of lemon oil. Soak fruits and vegetables, then rinse.

Pollinator Attractor:

Add 5 to 6 drops of wild orange to a spray bottle filled with 1 cup of water. Spray on flowers and buds to attract bees for pollination.

Pest Repellents:

Scare rodents away with 2 drops of peppermint oil dropped on a cotton ball. Tuck balls into mouse holes, burrows and nests to encourage them to relocate. (I have no problem with mice and other sweet outdoor friends, just suggestions)

Gnats:Patchouli,Spearmint

Lice:Cedarwood,Peppermint,Spearmint

Mosquitoes:Lavender,Lemongrass

Moths:

Plant Lice:Peppermint,Spearmint

Slugs:Cedarwood

Another thing to add to your grimoire - a list of resources, especially books that you use regularly.

I’ve always been into reading and academia, so when I started considering Wicca and witchcraft, I took out a bunch of books from the library, trolled bookstore aisles, and looked up everything I could on the topics that interested me. I currently have a book about general Wicca and witchcraft (especially rituals, beliefs, and correspondences of astral bodies), a book for dream interpretation, a book of crystals and their correspondences, and a book of herbs for healing. On my resources page in my grimoire - which I put before my Table of Contents so I remember to check my books before adding or looking up information - I’ve put the title, author and a super brief synopsis of what the book contains.

Just an idea, for anyone starting a grimoire!!

Ideas for decorating your altar:

✨yellow, orange, or beeswax candles.

✨oak leaves, abundance of herbs, plants or summer incense blends.

✨dried orange slice ornaments and citrus scents or fruit offerings.

✨sunflower wreaths, sun catchers, and garlands, crystals.

✨many flowers such as wildflowers, sunflowers, daisies or lavender.

✨and of course your basic altar tools, tarot cards, cauldron, book of shadows or grimoire.
