could you plz tell us how juno and deren look if possible

ooohhhhh boy you see the funny thing about characters who have exclusively been thought about from the Written Perspective. i have given their visuals not nearly as much thought. But i can list the vague vibes they give off, or the fits they'd wear. and since they age from 14-23 over the course of the story, i'll go from when they were roughly 16-17 or so, since that's the 'main' period of time in my head.

as this'll probably be a text-based work, i'm more than fine if people want to leave any of my characters as more open to interpretation. that being said, though, i do have a pretty solid picture of most of them in mind already...

firstly, juno! she starts out human, but gets a terrible case of lycanthropy and becomes half-wolf half-human (because I made these guys when I was about fourteen and it whips ass. and it's got some story meat in there). she's a pretty stock anthro wolf design - closer in design to a timber wolf, with brownish-grey colouration, and a more perky face. almost exactly like so

^ just a normal teenage girl. and she's also fucking TALL because of said lycanthropy - like, she's not hulking, but she already was pretty tall prior to the infection. because of this, she tends to slouch just a bit.

deren, though, is still a pretty normal-looking dude. in as little words as possible - i guess i've imagined him as a better-kept chris mccandless?

but it's far from set in stone. he's got medium-length, muddy brown hair towards the paler/lighter side. It's kinda groomed, but it's also not very easy to find a fantasy barber, so you have to do it yourself sometimes - a better point of comparison would probably be a shorter version of long-length styles popular on the american frontier

he doesn't exactly have a beautiful moustache like these dudes, though. it's just some rough stubble. unsurprisingly, he's also the shorter twin, but not by much.

something small also worth mentioning is that the twins share a little 'unsure' default expression. they're not vacant-eyed or aimless, but they do look very slightly perplexed at everything. juno's face tends more towards a neutral scowl, deren just looks a little concerned constantly.

nextly, drip

because the two of them ended up in Fantasy World while 'backpacking' (running away from home) through the wilderness, they wear a lot of contemporary 'outdoorsy' clothes. Chilly weather stuff, like windbreakers and sweats.

Juno is definitely the more active of the two, so she dresses more to move with less restrictive clothing, on account of how she's a swordsman. Her 'main' clothing item is her mom's old army jacket - a bit short towards the bottom due to damage sustained during The Infection, but it still fits well enough. It's kind of like this, sans patches.

She wears it over a gray hoodie on colder days, and just a red-on-white shirt when it's warm.

Juno also trends towards cold-weather active wear, like fleece cargos. Stuff that still lets her run, basically:

^ Prefers thinner cuffs, on average. Footwear is just hiking/mountaineering boots.

Lastly, accessories - she carries a rucksack around. It's kinda beat up because she tends to toss that shit around a lot. Also, what good would a swordsman be with no sword!? I don't have a specific measurement, but I'd peg it as a Type XIII in Oakeshott typology.

Deren is also dressed for colder stuff, but he hinges much more on the casual side. He wears flannel, and he's very annoying about it (according to Juno).

He probably owns basically any type of flannel jacket you can think of. He still does wear flannel just by itself, though, typically layered over a windbreaker.

He tends towards more drab colors, but he occasionally rocks a classic black-on-red checkerboard or the rare Blue Flannel with White.

I kind of want to put him in a beanie, but I also don't. I dunno.

For the bottom half, he just wears cuffed jeans and high-tops.

And, lastly, he's also got a bag. It's just a side-satchel for carrying his Tomes, since he tends to do magic with a book in his hands.

to get formalities out of the way, Juno Lachlann-Park is the protagonist of my forever in-progress portal fantasy story Eventide. To sell her short, she is a loser transgender lesbian swordfighting werewolf from the mystical lands of 'Denver, Colorado', and twin to her brother Deren, who is none of those things (aside from 'protagonist', 'loser', and 'Coloradan'). The story follows the twins through the years they spend in Fortune, a storied land where folklore runs rampant through the trees, shadows stalk amongst themselves, and magic bends to the whims of the Wilds.

I have. mostly just notes now, so she is unfortunately without much writing (that is functional and presentable 🫠) and no visuals outside of a general fit guide, as is the case with every little character in the story thus far. But I do have a general outline of what I'd like to do with her and Eventide as a whole, so I'll see what I can pull from Sparknotes...in a bit of time, because I need to sleep and no joke I straight up have jury duty tomorrow lmao

something happened.

hi all you new people. my blog as a whole has been gaining a lotta traction lately so im gonna shill. it would mean a lot to me if you checked out and reboggled my Writing Stuff under [#grimoire texts]. i do a lotta character-driven theorycrafting and fun little excerpts!! not as much as i should but i do do it!

my main little project, what i've written the most for on here at least, is a fun take on 'portal fantasy but they never go back' called Eventide, appropriately tagged [#grimoire eventide]. what has my fancy at the moment is a sci-fi thing about a starfleet-wide AI construct who gets compressed down to an 'almost human' size called Solid-State Mind, under [#Solid-State Mind]. if you like the funny little guys from those tiny excerpts i do, feel free to pester me to write more. I am motivated primarily by other people annoying me to do the work i said i'd eventually do :^)

i've got this spider bard dude character. septimus. his whole* schtick is that he can play at least 2 instruments at once (on account of having five arms (lost one (hence the name, septimus, he has seven limbs. try to keep up))) which gives him a rather lucrative (lying) career as a travelling busker right
