               attention turns from the book in his lap to the child who’s warmth and weight is leaned against his arm. there’s some growth of comfort that tomura had found in his new guardian; and all for one had done nothing but forge that fire with kindling of false kindness and care. so he lets the boy rest, lets him relax into this sense of connection he finds from the man. it’s sweet in the way that a human finds a stray dog sweet. 

                ‘ if you’re tired, you should rest, tomura. ’ he hums, a finger slipping between the pages of his book to hold it’s place and flipping the cover closed. ‘ or did you want me to read to you? ’
