Thou - Grissecon from Summit

I can't hold this in any longer. I've been listening to this thing for months now and have been wanting to share for maybe just as long. But, problem is, it's too long and the MP3 is too large. I didn't post it then because I said fuck it, I'm not going to upload a shitty MP3 just to share it. If I'm going to tell people about this thing, it's gotta be good quality. And then I listened to it again today, a couple weeks since last listening, and I can't hold onto it anymore. So, I'm making a soundcloud version of it and hoping the band won't take offense to that.

So, with all that bullshit out of the way, let's just talk about the music. This track is probaly the album's more melodic of collection, but still retains the crushing, raw and broodiness of their overall sound. I'd like to term it doom hardcore. The surprising thing for those who aren't familiar with this type of music is that the lyrics are not only incredibly positive, but border onto mystic/hippie, a quality most who don't give a metal a chance don't come to realize. If you're a metal fan and people say, "Oh, it's so negative," first punch them in the face because they clearly haven't listened to metal, and then throw this on with a lyric sheet in front of them. Speaking of which, please read the lyrics if you're not a fan of this kind of music. Give it that much of your attention. I promise, you won't regret it.
