also, grits is just an objectively bad name for a food. “hey what’s this foodstuffs you’re making” “oh I call it [inedible adjective]” like who does that. here’s my Food Creation, i’ve named it Gravels. it’s okay though because i lied to you and there’s no gravel in there (usually) (this is the same anon as Brain Time, i just forget to sign things unless i do that first. is 🐤 taken?)

i have a solution to gritscourse- just start pouring sand into peoples grits. whats the worst that could happen?

i was under the impression that grits are basically oatmeal, but with a different base? is that incorrect?

I usually see them cooked in a pan? Apparnetly they’re ground corn, but I still can’t imagine what that feels and tastes like.

for the grits thing, its been a long time since ive had them but iirc theyre pretty soft, with a similar texture to oatmeal or maltomeal (idk if thats a thing everywhere, its kinda like porridge). for me the difference is that oatmeal and maltomeal are flavored with sweet things like honey or chocolate or dried fruit and grits is flavored with savory things like butter or bacon or cheese

see, the savory thing sounds delicious - especially spiced! - but... I’m getting conflicting info on the texture here.
