@grlfrmnqwhere played: do you hate me, or something? / for ann from mara!!
𝗚𝗔𝗠𝗘 𝗡𝗔𝗠𝗘: UNPROMPTED ASK - always delightfully accepting!
Ann's expression is steel ; cold and unyielding in the face of a monster. The audacity of a woman like that to ask such a question. AS IF IT WOULD BE A SHOCK TO BE HATED. Like her face hadn't been plastered all over the televisions and newspapers when the case broke open. FIFTEEN. Fifteen innocent lives. Ann didn't use the word hate lightly. But in this case? She could see why it would be made.
You disgust me. The words sit on the tp of Ann's tongue but she doesn't say them. And with her eyes hidden behind dark sunglasses, there's no way to know what she's thinking. Ann knows better than to react. TOO MANY KILLERS ENJOY THEIR INFAMY, reveling in the sense of power or getting off on reliving their crimes. Too many like to brag about it, or flaunt it around.
Now Ann understands why she'd seen players running away from approaching the venue. " I'm not playing a game with you. " Ann's voice is icy and curt. She hasn't crossed over the threshold into the game arena, nor is she close enough for a sudden move to drag her in. Ann doesn't like violence, but now is one of the few times she wished she had a gun or EVEN ONE OF THE MILITANTS. Unfortunately she has neither.
It's true that anyone here could be FORCED to become a killer either directly or indirectly. But Mara? That was something else entirely. Ann still remembers all the grieving families coming in and out of the station.
" What I think doesn't matter. " Ann doesn't like the idea of turning her back to this woman SO SHE DOESN'T. " I'm going to play elsewhere. " Hatter wouldn't care so long as cards game back.
