Some part of him says this is silly, that he should feel fear and run when the other looks like one of the Galra, the ones that tormented him for two long, agonizing years. Really, however, that isn’t what happens. Instead, Chuck can’t explain what draws him to Shiro’s side... or what makes him begin to carefully groom the obvious knots that have tangled up at the base of one of those ears.

Maybe he’s just insane.
