            𝙵𝚁𝙴𝙴𝚉𝙸𝙽𝙶 𝙸𝙽 𝙷𝙴𝚁 𝚂𝙿𝙾𝚃, Jackie lifted her head from her magazine with slight confusion. The gang had been arguing with Hyde over who should be able to attend, everyone bringing arguments like who knew him longer, who knew every guitar riff by heart, and who could drive. The one person who didn’t beg to come with happened to be the one he chose, surprising everyone in the room. Flipping closed her Cosmo, Jackie was quick to stand up from her seat, “ 𝚆𝙰𝙸𝚃 𝚂𝚃𝙴𝚅𝙴𝙽, 𝚁𝙴𝙰𝙻𝙻𝚈 ? ” she asked as she followed after him. Much to their dismay, Jackie didn’t even like Aerosmith, but she sure didn’t hate them either.

Of course, the reaction from their friends was less than pleased but this didn’t seem to stop Jackie from ignoring the bickering, following after Hyde, “ 𝙸 𝙱𝙴𝚃 𝚈𝙾𝚄 𝙷𝙰𝚅𝙴 𝙰 𝚉𝙸𝙿𝙿𝙾 𝙻𝙸𝙶𝙷𝚃𝙴𝚁 𝚃𝙾𝙾, 𝙷𝚄𝙷 ? 𝙾𝙷 𝙼𝚈 𝙶𝙾𝙳, 𝚂𝚃𝙴𝚅𝙴𝙽, 𝙳𝙾 𝚈𝙾𝚄 𝙺𝙽𝙾𝚆 𝙷𝙾𝚆 𝙼𝙰𝙶𝙸𝙲𝙰𝙻 𝚃𝙷𝙸𝚂 𝙸𝚂 𝙶𝙾𝙽𝙽𝙰 𝙱𝙴 ? 𝚂𝚃𝙴𝚅𝙴𝙽 𝚃𝚈𝙻𝙴𝚁 𝙸𝚂 𝚂𝚄𝙲𝙷 𝙰 𝙶𝙾𝙾𝙳 𝚂𝙸𝙽𝙶𝙴𝚁 ! ”

if    you    know    anything    about    him    for    sure    ,        though    ,        is    that    he’s    always    down    for    a    smoke    .        whatever    the    circumstance    ,        you    can’t    help    but    dig    in    for    the    easy    jab    ;        barely    even    an    insult    ,        just    a    re    -    statement    of    the    truth    .

             Their phone call earlier in the day had been brief, will there be girls and beer? Yes. It was nice to know where Hyde’s priories were. Jonah knew he’d lived in the city less than a year - he hadn’t asked for exact details. He probably didn’t have anything better to do - and knew a finite amount of people. He’d anticipated the man accepting the invite, being in a new area had to be difficult. Meeting people was never easy - what better place to do so than a party? It was nothing big. A friend of a friend’s house, he’d met the guy once. Cheeks vouched for him and there was supposed to be a keg - burgers and hot dogs. 

               Hyde had driven to his house so they could arrive together, introductions made less awkward with him being a mutual party. When they arrive Jonah led in obligatory introductions, cheeks - the host. Anyone else was deemed unimportant to Jonah himself, so he didn’t waste his time in clarifying who was who.  

       “The keg’s in the backyard,” he finally murmured to his plus one once the necessary social steps had been taken. They were standing in the sparsely populated kitchen, he’s holding a small handful of chips that he’d claimed from a bag on the kitchen bar. // @groovesrecords​

She rolls her eyes with a chuckle, sipping the coffee held in both hands. She could feel the warmth spreading from fingertips to wrists and it was somewhat comforting; the ache in her palms from the heat reminding her that she was alive. Leaning back in her seat, she crosses her legs over one another and resting the mug against her thigh.

A passive shrug with an inhale on a cigarette. She had had her fair share of instances where she, too, had been called an asshole but wasn’t that just peoples’ way of saying they didn’t like the shit you were doing? It didn’t matter what, to someone, you’d always be that asshole. A slow exhale of smoke with a laugh.

𝙔𝙊𝙐 ’𝙑𝙀     𝙉𝙀𝙑𝙀𝙍     𝙎𝙈𝙊𝙆𝙀𝘿     𝘽𝙀𝙁𝙊𝙍𝙀     ,          and     you’re     pretty     sure     that     almost     insulted     him     .          it     came     highly     recommended     ;          ease     the     anxiety     that     chokes     you     out     ,          turn     off     your     brain     for     a     little     while     ,          feel     the     tension     leave     your     tendons     .          you’re     addicted     to     nicotine     already     ,          so     you’re     not     entirely     worried     about     the     aspect     of     smoke     ;          it’s     more     the     fear     of     the     unknown     that     makes     you     shiver     when     you     take     your     first     hit     .

he’s     shockingly     nice     about     it     -          tells     you     to     lean     back     and     breathe     ,          just     ride     it     out     ,          and     you     close     your     eyes     when     he     speaks     ,          trying     to     ground     yourself     on     any     sensory     information     you     can     while     it     leaks     into     your     system     .

you     can’t     remember     if     you’re     alone     or     not     -          it     feels     as     though     the     entirety     of     the     room     has     disappeared     ;          and     you’re     pretty     sure     it’s     not     the     weed     that’s     done     it     (     it     doesn’t     kick     in     that     quickly     ,          does     it     ?     )     .          ❛❛    okay     ,    ❜❜          you’re     able     to     murmur     out     ,          but     you’re     focused     mostly     on     the     darkness     behind     your     eyelids     ,          and     the     fabric     of     your     shirt     ,          and     the     fact     that     his     instructions     have     been     the     kindest     tone     he’s     ever     spoken     to     you     in     .
