Get Rid of It

Matthew 18:8-9 So if your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It’s better to enter eternal life with only one hand or one foot than to be thrown into eternal fire with both of your hands and feet. And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It’s better to enter eternal life with only one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell. Whenever I read this verse I think really? If my hand causes me to sin, I should cut it off? That doesn't sound like the loving God in the Bible. This just shows the seriousness of what our lives should be like when we follow Jesus. If something is getting I the way of us following Jesus, we should get rid of it! What is getting in the way of you following Jesus? God, thank you for all that you do for me. I know that there are things in my life that get in the way of me fully following you . Show those to me and give me the strength to resist those sins and follow you.
