Growing cress??

Just yesterday - Saturday 4th July 2026 - I bought some cress seeds from some shop, forgot which one, might've been B&M or PoundLand, though regardless I still got it. So, moving onto "planting" the seeds:

Challenge one: Do I use a dish, or a pot?

Obviously I already know the answer, a dish. But at the time I was pacing the kitchen with all the horrible sorrow of my despairs that maybe I had bought the seeds for nothing! Nothing at all!! But of course my critical thinking combated the dilemma and allowed me to search far and wide enough to find a beautiful dish that I called home for the seeds. But then that led on to my next problem...

Challenge two: How do I plant these seeds, inside?

So, I had decided to search this one up, as it was less personal, and more factual. Now though, it seems as if I had NOTHING of what I was supposed to have (which was compost or cotton wool), so I resided with using... *Drum roll please!!*

PAPER TOWELS! Which was actually a great choice! Let me say why.

So, now that I had something to sow my cress in, I folded it four times to fit the dish, then added water and my seeds, not caring much about the "ONE CENTIMETRE SPACING!" and having it rather one millimetre spacing. I then posted the dish up next to my spring onion (which is actually growing!!!!!) and hoped for the best.

Challenge three: Is this actually growing?

Yes it was, I was originally scared the seeds were shrivelling from the British sun in this merciless month of July, but I was wrong. I would attach a picture of what they look like now - A day later, Sunday 5th July 2026 - but there's three reasons as to why I won't:

One: This blog is done on my laptop and I have problems emailing pictures to this email for some reason.

Two: It's 2232 and I am TIRED.

Three: I can't be bothered to find out how to attach images.

But they are growing!! You can see the roots (I think) coming out of the seeds!

My parsley and mint have grown more powerful. 🔥 Also I got a pretty flower and my aunt gave me a cat net so my cat can fantasize about massacring the whole bird population on the balcony for a change instead on top of the cat tree with his face pressed against the window.

i'm growing plants and i've named them all and suddenly life feels ok again.

meet my daughters; Betina, Bàra, and Darja

i've had Darja the longest, thats why shes the biggest. she's an atherton rasberry (native to australia)

i got Bàra and Betina at the same time (they're twins)

Bàra is the middle one, she's s a boysenberry. and Betina is on the left, she's a blackberry.

next i want to get a native australian tamarind.

So the only good thing in this neighborhood, the cherry blossoms which have been blooming with vigor, one of them just got... sawed down. While it was fully in bloom and perfectly healthy.

I took branches inside while they were still sawing cos the rage in me is immense, and I'm determined to save some of her.

Gave them a mix of propagating soil, perlite, and sphagnum moss, have nodes inside soil, stripped the bottom 1-2inch and dipped the green in rooting growth.

I want them to work out and this is what the internet told me, as quickly as I needed to find it, but if there's tips then I'm all ears. I still have plenty of material left, but I can't get anything new until monday
