   ‘ keoki ? keoki ! ‘ he’d been searching for his friend everywhere, pushing    through crowds of people just to get to his apartment, only to find it empty.    gavin realized he must be in the lagoon, and tried to run through the masses    to get there, with only the worst outcomes playing in his mind. he would’ve    been crying had he’d been alone. 

   finally, he reached the water. he didn’t care that the water was soaking his    socks through, or that his jeans were wet. cupping his hands over his mouth,    gavin yelled: ‘ keoki ! keoki where are you ? ‘

   ‘ keoki, what --- what are you going as ? for halloween i mean ? ‘ the stripes    on gavin’s own costume make it fairly obvious that he is a bee. he had been    debating on what else to be if this one was too kid-ish. he should have taken    roman’s advice and been a deer -- yeah... there was still time.

   in any case he came to trick or treat a bit with his good friend keoki ! he even    brought some cinnamon flavored honey for the holidays. yep. his very good    friend keoki. his first friend.
