Grown Ocean | Cormac & Edmund
"On your way to woo my future bride, eh?"
It was the usual opening salvo, and had Cormac laughing rather heartily as it usually did. He'd run into Edmund on horseback, both bound towards Malconaire, but while Edmund was likely on his way to visit with Lady Roisin, Cormac had a far loftier personage in his sights, her stepbrother, the mighty Lord Malconaire, himself, a thought which made his puff his chest out importantly. How significant, he thought with a flash of pride, to be a lord off to concer with another lord! Not merely an imperial prince off to whisper sweet nothings to his sweetheart, Cormac's mission was something important!
In truth, Cormac didn't even have anything in particular to say to Cassimir, he simply wished to bask in his inspiring presence, but this particular thought did not occur to him during these fulfilling reflections.
"Do be sure to tell the Lady Roisin that I shall call upon her and all of her sisters after I have finished up my bsusiness with Lord Malconaire. I know how reticent ladies are to seem as if they might wish to be in a gentleman's presence, so as duly not to seem too...presumptious, but I'm sure you'll find the right thing to say to her, eh?" he added with a wink as if they were old chums in on the same joke which was, indeed, what he believed the situation more or less to be.
"Have no fear, dear cousin, however, for I shall forgive them, whatever they might say. It is simply surety of their good breeding that they prove so reticent. Alas, only sweet Aine learned such niceties of my sisters, and I am determined that my own wife shall be more of her mold than that of my other sisters. Do you know, Lady Roisin told me just the other day that neither she nor any of her other sisters would ever marry me. I confess, I was nearly put off the idea by her force till I recalled this to me and, now, I confess, I see it only for what it is: noble humility which is, indeed, but an added attraction. I'm sure she says much the same to you, no?" Having said as much, Cormac positively beamed.
"Tell me, brother," he added, brightly. "How fares good Uncle Roderick?"
