Do you have a living aloe plant as part of your household's first aid kit?
Yes, I have an aloe specifically for that purpose
I have an aloe just to have it as a plant, but will use it if needed
I have an aloe just to have it as a plant, and will NOT use it for first aid
I have aloe vera gel for burns, but not a plant
No, I have something else to treat minor burns
No, I don't have anything specifically to treat burns in my first aid kit
I don't have a first aid kit at all
Other
Anon grew up hearing that a living aloe plant is standard first aid for minor burns, but whenever they encounter first aid/burns in media there's never an aloe plant involved, so they're wondering if this is uncommon.

FIRST AID KIT A Feeling That Never Came — Live in Stockholm
in sailing, sometimes failing, that's the only way, the only way to fly.
"first aid kit"
I'm compiling a list of things I do to help myself when I'm sad or depressed. Please note, I'm coming from the perspective of having clinically diagnosed PTSD, so this isn't some cutesy little self help list, as I know what it's like to be at rock bottom, nearly unable to drag myself up or move forward.
take a nap if I've gotten 7 or less hours a night for one or more nights
get rid of things, sell something, give something away to someone who needs it, recycle stuff, donate to a local shelter, ask your neighbors if they need anything you want to let go.
clean something - I often do this when I can't face more mentally taxing things like writing or communicating with people. It feels so good to just clean one thing...or my entire bathroom...whatever I can actually do.
find or make something to look forward to - this can be as basic as scheduling a fun phone call with a friend or saying "I'm going to the library tomorrow to walk around a quiet space" - I often create a "trail of breadcrumbs" for myself in case I don't have anything to keep me going.
watch an uplifting movie - I just watched The Wild Robot yesterday and it was a wonderful mood boost for me. The most important thing is to watch something that is just pure fun. As much as I adore mysteries, they are not always cheerful and I forget to watch something that is less sad, something that makes me burst out laughing.
learn something new - sometimes I pick subjects at random, sometimes I watch a new documentary, go down a wikipedia rabbit-hole, or if possible, go to a museum or other place to just disconnect from where you are and get in a different head space.
clear off a work surface and just try to do one thing at a time - lately this has really helped me clear my head and stop multitasking. Remember that multitasking is a myth. Multitasking is just flipping back and forth between multiple things and not doing many things at once. It hurts your brain.
reduce phone time - I've recently slipped back into being on my phone way too much and I'm sure it hasn't been good for my mental health at all. I've deleted some apps today and I'm going to try to dramatically reduce phone time from now on.
make your life less complicated by deleting apps, getting rid of a monthly service you don't use anymore, unsubscribe from emails, etc.
do something crafty - it can be as simple as coloring in a coloring book, or it can be a more involved crafting project like jewelry-making. I've been beading a lot and while I've abandoned some of my writing for it, it's good for me to work with my hands and to refocus.
create a sensory station or drawer where you can put things to just play with. For example, I have some kinetic sand which you can get for very cheap. I also have some sensory toys that I got either cheap or free. It forces me to get away from digital devices and retrain myself to be more comfortable with not thinking so hard.
sit somewhere and just vibe - a sunny spot in your house, a library, a conservatory in your city, a zoo, whatever. Allowing myself to sit peacefully and not be "productive" is hard for me but it feels good the more I work on this.
I'm aware that not all of my "techniques" are something everyone can do physically or mentally, or even financially. We all have different parameters of existence. Reblog and add things to this running list if you'd like.

Lucy Gray Album Concept
My take on if Lucy Gray released an album!
(Spoilers for The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes)
Title: Songs from District 12 the Grave
A few notes/explanations:
I chose songs with female vocalists and tried to stay in the folksy vein because I wanted it to sound like something she would actually sing as well as contribute to her story.
My interpretation of Lucy Gray's story is that she did in fact die in the woods or shortly after. Due to this the album is divided into songs that correspond to her life (1-11) in chronological order, a funeral song (The Old Therebefore, 12) marking her death, and then a few songs that take place referencing her death or haunting the narrative/Snow (13-16).
The title references her life cut short as if she was working on an album that she had to pivot because of her death.
Tracklist & Notes
"Emmylou" by First Aid Kit: I picture her singing this with Maude Ivory in a duet. The Covey had so much taken from them and their way of life when they were trapped in District 12 after the war. This song is them holding onto each other and music.
"Nothing You Can Take From Me (Boot-Stompin' Version)" by Rachel Zegler & The Covey Band: Demonstrating the resilience of the Covey and Lucy Gray while also referencing the scene at the reaping.
"500 Miles" by Peter, Paul and Mary: Lucy Gray on the train heading to the Capitol surely feeling that she would never return to her family.
"The Ballad of Lucy Gray Baird" by Rachel Zegler: Lucy Gray summarizing her story to this point in her life (the Interview).
"Canary" by Joy Williams: Lucy Gray sings when she has something to say and will not let the Capitol silence her or take her spirit. Think about her singing in the arena with all she has despite her impending death.
"Pure as the Driven Snow" by Rachel Zegler & The Covey Band: Before she's seen the red flags in Snow, when she still trusts and loves him.
"House of the Rising Sun" by Lizzy McAlpine: The feeling that her decisions have put her in a bad situation and now she has limited options to get out of it.
"The Hanging Tree" by Rachel Zegler: Choosing to leave District 12 with Snow and asking her to meet him to run amidst the perilous situation in District 12.
"boys, bugs and men" by Paris Paloma: Her realization that something is off with Snow - his coldness and ambition shining through. Realizing that he isn't telling her the truth.
"The Bolter" by Taylor Swift: The moment that Lucy Gray knows she has to run and get away from Snow to save her own life.
"Dog Days Are Over" by Florence + The Machine: Her literally running for her life, trying to leave Snow.
"The Old Therebefore (Acapella)" by Rachel Zegler: The moment of her death, singing her soul to the other side.
"The Damage" by The Secret Sisters: Lamenting her relationship with Snow and how it ended up being her ruin.
"I Bet You Think About Me" by Taylor Swift & Chris Stapleton: Lucy Gray singing to Snow telling him she is going to be harder to forget than he thinks and foreshadowing the pieces of her that exist in District 12, the games, and the Capitol all the way through The Hunger Games trilogy.
"Can't Catch Me Now" by Olivia Rodrigo: Lucy Gray haunting the narrative and out of the control of Snow. He has no ability to stop her from being felt in his world. She was so impactful that he cannot erase her completely.
"Silver Springs" by Fleetwood Mac: Lucy Gray haunting Snow and telling him it could have ended differently, but now he has cursed himself.
Also working on album concepts for Maude Ivory and Lenore Dove but not quite happy with them yet.
