I remember it like it was yesterday. It was eight years ago, and I was frantically in search of an organic and freshly prepared meal at a drive thru for our boys. Our son, Walker, was newly diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and was suddenly suffering from a low blood sugar in his car seat. My plan of schlepping to the grocery store, boys in tow, was out the window; I needed #realfood and I needed it NOW. That tear filled moment left me feeling powerless, defeated and broken. It also empowered me to action. After leaving them in a running car (not a proud moment) and desperately grabbing takeout from a mom&pop restaurant, racing home to feed them, making sure Walk was safe and sitting on my shower floor sobbing; I came to the realization that no one was going to fix this for me. I got up, dusted myself off, looked in the mirror and thought, "no one is coming to save you Shannon". I called @trayfour and told him that if no one had big enough balls to reinvent fast food, we had to do it. It took eight years to get our doors open and 18 long months to successfully complete our certification process...but, we're here. I can't tell you how many people told us "no" or that this was "impossible"...thankfully, we don't believe in either of those words. The words we do believe in are THANK YOU, YES, DEDICATION, FAMILY, TOGETHER and TEAM! Thank you to every single person that helped, supported us, encouraged us and even for the naysayers (you may not know it but your disbelief inspired us to push on, go harder and preservere). Thank you to our amazing #grownteam and all of the inspiring #grownpeople that have invested in our collective dream, lifted us up and supported us every single step of the way. Your faith in our collective mission to change the world one organic fast food meal at a time sustains us. Lastly, thank you to all of our extraordinary #grownguests for believing in us, championing us and for bringing your friends and neighbors- for spreading the #goodword.
