grrlinthefireplace replied to your post: 10 songs I’ve been listening to on repeat!
a) omg i should have predicted “gentleman jack” and “bella ciao” my beautiful predictable angel; b) love that we both have lizzo on here; c) “alexandra leaving” is the most correctest leonard cohen song to choose and this is the most correctest version of it, sharon’s voice is everything
Fun Fact: ‘Good As Hell’ is actually my favourite and Most Listened To Lizzo song overall, but it was on my playlist for 2016 because I listened to it CONSTANTLY when I was on holiday in America going round the national parks it remains one of my go-to ‘walking to work int he morning’ songs now because it always starts the day off in the best way :D:D:D

Tel Aviv: What is your favorite thing about your family?
my sisteralso the fact that we all unironically consider the Eurovision Song Contest to be the peak of human cultural achievement and gather every year as a family to watch it, treating it almost with the importance of a religious festival
Milan: How do you think others describe you?
already answered!
Cairo: What’s your favorite quote?ooooh that’s a difficult one, because it probably changes depending on my mood, but it’s almost always going to be Pratchett. One of my enduring favourites of his is:
Stories are important. People think that stories are shaped by people. In fact, it's the other way around.

WAIT FOR REAL
I mean none of the writers has said “yes we cut that Bellamy/Octavia scene because those nightgowns were TOO GOOD” but for me the fact that there was a pretty fully formed 304 deleted scene that helped flesh out Bellamy’s turn that apparently was less important than the thigh slit in L.exa’s nightgown is confirmation for me. I’m not saying there was direct intent but that decision was clearly made.

I also feel like that's kind of Jason abdicating responsibility and blame for the fact that, like, HE'S THE SHOWRUNNER, so it's HIS decision to kill off Lincoln. It's not like this happened in real life and was taken out of his hands. If he'd wanted to, he could have given Pike a Kane-style redemption arc (THEY STILL NEED HIS EARTH SKILLS YOU GUYS), but I think in a weird way it feels like a writer scapegoating a fictional character.
YES, thank you Claire, that sums up my gut discomfort with it perfectly. It feels like a combination of scapegoating a character for Jason’s decision to kill Lincoln, and scapegoating the audience for his decision to kill Pike. That might not be fair, and it is bringing non-canon hearsay (even if it is from the source JR said it to) into my interpretation of canon, but it just...really, really rubs me the wrong way, basically.

ERIN AND I ARE SO EXCITED TO YELL ABOUT LUNA LIKE YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW?????
LOL i have a feeling the “Luna: The Commander Who Is Too Good for Us and She Knows It” and “Pike Apologism with Claire, part 50” segments are gonna be LIT this week ;)

LUNA IS WHAT LEXA SHOULD HAVE BEEN (please don't kill me for saying that, clexas, I'M SORRY) but it's TOTALLY TRUE, she is so badass and amazing and i love her fierce morals and crazy hair and zero fucks
uhh don’t i know it i cannot WAIT for yall to talk about her in the podcast honestly. Not only was she a fantastic foil for L.exa and really shed some light there, but Luna is so refreshing because she refused to give in, she refused to “do whatever it takes to survive” when it breaks her moral code and I honestly can’t remember another character who was as unhypocritical and straight foward as that?? Like i might not even agree with her isolationist stance but her attitude and complete contempt for the curruption of the system she refused to buy into - no matter the circumstances - was so REFRESHING. Also someone needed to break the spell the idea of the ~commandership seems to have on Clarke. Also she was a straight up badass with a heart of gold like those last action scenes?? DAMN. Luna with children? sign me up. I’m just here for Luna 100% tbh
