seeing so much SkullCarving on the sm tag heh finally... theyre much too young to identify any feelings for each other or act on them yet, but they show their love very obviously. they find bugs hiding under rocks and spend hours sitting next to each other to look at them. i bet you that Pump has a trampoline in his backyard that they pile leaves onto so Skid can lay in the middle and Pump can bounce around him till hes completely covered up
their disagreements lie in little things like Pump wanting to own a cat because "Susie and grandpa need someone to look after them", but Skid wants a dog so his mama will feel safer if hes not alone when hes outside. at some point theyre gonna shake hands and say the animals can be friends with each other like they are
i noticed that Skid goes quiet when his Family Issues are mentioned. i think Pump speaks for him if he remains silent. he knows how to distract Skid and get him back to normal, he used to cry a lot before Pump started squeeze-hugging him to "get all the tears out". the same is done for Pump if he starts spiraling about his parents, he goes on rants and tries to find Temporary Solutions like looking for adults to go to or hiding somewhere. but Skid will find him and say something ridiculous to snap him out of it. they are brainlinked
