8 and 12 :)
8. One book you regret having read.
I already answered this one, but I’m gonna try to come up with a different answer. This is difficult because I appreciate the experience of reading each book, even if I didn’t enjoy the book itself. Like each book teaches me something new about writing or whatever. If I had to choose, I guess I would say The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things by J.T. LeRoy. It was horribly written, contrived, marketed as a memoir but in reality was fictional because J.T. LeRoy is a false persona created by Laura Albert. That pisses me off more because she doesn’t just have a penname. She got someone she knew to dress up and attend events AS J.T. LeRoy to play the part and enforce the persona.
12. One book/series you would love to be adapted into a movie or TV show.
Hmmm…I’d probably have to go with Eragon iF THEY HADN’T FUCKED UP THE FIRST MOVIE SO BADLY UGH WHY IT HAD SUCH GREAT PROMISE
4 and 7
Yay!
4. The first book that I have a conscious memory of reading is probably Playing Beatie Bow by Ruth Park. I got it for Christmas when I was about 8 maybe. I didn’t really like the sound of it, but thought I’d try it anyway, and I loved it. I still have the copy I was given, even though its a bit worn (very well loved). I haven’t read it for a few years, so I might have to have a look at it again.
7. That’s tricky. I hate the label ‘over-rated’. But if I had to pick… 50 Shades of Grey. Not that it was well-reviewed or anything, but every female over the age of 16 that I know read it, and raved about it. I read the first one. I nearly cried with how terrible the writing was.
Thank you!
