Yeah just from the title here I’ve possibly already crushed someone’s heart with the thought of these two separating but hear me out for a moment.
I’ve been tossing this idea around for possibly two months for awhile and wanted to get some opinions because if anything, since I’ve began writing I’ve been depicting my OTP as possibly the perfect relationship and we all know that’s simply a dream of a perfect ending. Every couple fights sometimes and with some it drives us apart, a wedge at the stem while with others it makes us stronger to admit neither of us in the end is perfect and can work through it all when remembering why we’re together in the first place.
So with that in mind when an argument between our two shipped Guardians leaves them both on a break, Rocket thus leaving the group and moving in with his adoptive-dad Wade it leaves Quill reeling while listening to all the music his fiancé made for him back aboard the Quadrant, the ship felt so quiet with the sarcastic raccoon around now. Unable to sleep anymore with everyone else aboard the ship in bed and only the tunes to keep him going the man looks at a holo-picture of the him and Rocket together, still going over his last conversation with his partner and staring up at the clock in his room.
“It’s a quarter after one, I’m all alone and I need yo now.”
“Said I wouldn’t call but I lost all control and I need you know.”
Meanwhile far away in the galaxy back on Terra with Wade, Rocket’s enjoying the time he’s getting to spend with the mercenary even though the man’s who raised him is a mental trip most days even to his standards. Despite it all he begans missing the dumb Star-Dork and his dorky smile after the first week. Drink in his hand and sitting on the raggedy couch with Wade asleep nearby, the raccoon counts the clock until someone would take the first step to reconcile the cracks made between them.
“Another shot of whiskey, can’t stop looking at the door.”
“Wishing you’d come sweepin’ in the way you did before.”
Eventually at the stories completion I’m hoping to show that sometimes through all the things we’ve done or said to that important person keeping us awake, the chain never broke and sometimes....sometimes all it takes to mend is one call.
Let me know if this is something you wish to see after the completion of my current stories, The Night Of Life & Sweetest Of Dreams.
