hi art for my GRV au

I like to think the mirror becomes Vio's routine. he dons Blue's tunic and speaks to himself in the mirror, pretending it's Blue. It starts off as a one time thing. He doesn't mean to do it. It was his moment of weakness. But then a week passes, and he finds himself in Blue's room again. the next time is only a few days later. and then it becomes a nightly routine.

Vio goes through each day carrying this cold demeanor. he doesn't make an effort to smile anymore. he's uninterested in speaking to anyone. he completely detaches from everyone around him.

But at night, after everyone's asleep, he stands in front of that mirror. it always starts off simple.

"you'll never guess the day I've had..." "So dad said something interesting today..." "Don't get too jealous, but I got to..." "Ugh...! Listen to this...."

the emotions flow out, and he loses himself in the conversation. Vio knows he looks crazy—he FEELS crazy, but it's too cathartic. It feels so good to just let go and pretend.

then at the end, he collapses to the floor, grovelling in front of the mirror sobbing

thinking about GRV au (the au where BLUE DIES !!!!)......

I think I've mentioned that Vio becomes more aggressive/reckless after Blue dies. for many reasons. but one of those reasons is because he can't stop seeing Blue everywhere

it's hard not NOT see Blue because they all share the same body. every time Vio sees Green or Red, he can't help but also see Blue—but it isn't Blue. in a way, it's taunting. to be so close to Blue but so far away at the same time. there's literally a piece of him that's gone, and he doesn't know how to handle that grief

Vio prides himself in being able to keep his emotions in check, but he can feel himself losing control and it frustrates him. he's hurt and angry, and for once he doesn't have an answer on how to "fix" his feelings

he can't control his rage and unfortunately Green and Red take the brunt of it. Especially Green

Vio & Green to me have a very cooperative dynamic. if Green is the leader, then Vio is his tactician—they're both incredibly resourceful and play off each other's strategies. however, after Blue's death, all they seem to do now is fight and argue. Green becomes overly paranoid about losing another piece of themselves and Vio becomes reckless in battle—so Green is constantly on Vio's case about being more careful

it's very reminiscent of how Blue and Vio used to argue. and maybe because of that, it only encourages Vio to fight more. in a twisted way, there's a sense of comfort in pissing Green off. when Green scowls and shouts at Vio, it almost feels like Blue's right in front of him. so he pushes—he keeps pushing Green in the same way he used to push Blue

but Green isn't Blue. fighting with Blue always ended up fine because Blue enjoys fighting with Vio, but Green does not. so Vio's fights with Green just end up being painful. Green hates fighting with his counterparts, and especially now because he knows they're ALL hurting. and Vio always ends up feeling guilty and angry with himself for escalating things. but he never seems to catch himself until it's too late
