The Spinosaurus exhibit had finally been opened. After eight years of preparation, repeat inspections, vet appointments, and training, Paddock 19, also known as the Spinosaur Dynasty, was finally on the park map. Dr. Bledsoe had been truly ecstatic at the grand opening. She spoke to as many visitors as she could and shared a lot about Cleo’s early years. Even though a few months had passed, Annalisa was still very excited and was found around the exhibit, answering questions or just sharing Spinosaur facts.
However, it was near closing time for the day and the viewing window was practically empty. Cleopatra had become accustomed to people moving around her enclosure. Though she didn’t exactly like those scaleless creatures, she did like all the attention she got. Alpha was around just as often as when she was a hatchling and Cleo was given treats more often than ever before. Although she didn’t like anyone aside from Alpha, she tolerated the new abundance of people.
As she approached the fake log window, she saw a small scaleless creature. It was the size of some of her fish treats. Cleo stared at him with her yellow/green crocodilian eyes. A low hiss escaped her lips as she gazed at the boy. Alpha was not around and she’d had enough visitors for the day.
