the silence is usually comfortable in the library; somewhere that robin can escape to clear his head and fill it back up with interesting facts. he likes to study, broaden his knowledge with extra reading - he finds it makes class easier if he already has a good basic knowledge on whatever’s being taught. but the silence is different today, because it’s shared between him and jayden kim, the gryffindor that robin, unfortunately, knows more about than jayden knows about him. he’s sure not many people even know his name, and he wonders for a moment if jayden bothered to remember it when he told him it at the start of the study session.
robin’s taken the time to tutor jayden, though he wonders why he’s bothering about ten minutes in - jayden doesn’t seem remotely interested in learning, so he’s not even sure why he asked robin to tutor him in the first place. “if you don’t pay attention you’re going to fail.” he warns him with a sigh, pushing his glasses up his nose, still not lifting his eyes from the book between them for longer than a second.
he props his chin up in the palm of one hand, lifting his eyes to peer across the table at jayden, a slight frown on his face. maybe he’s wasting his time trying to help him; maybe jayden’s merely taking advantage of his kindness in helping him, because he sure as hell doesn’t seem interested, at all, in learning anything.
