Single Greatest Takeaway
Over the course of the past 12 weeks (It's now the end of the 12th week), our group has gone overcome many obstacles to get to where we are today. This course has been a wild ride and I'm very thankful for the many opportunities we had been given. From the fun little ice-breakers to the in-depth critical thinking involving the many ways a product can pivot, MCS*4100 has been one of my favourite courses to date.
I believe that my single greatest "takeaway" from this course would have to be that nothing ever goes as planned and if you share the same passion and drive for the success of your product as the rest of your teammates working on new ideas doesn't even feel like work. From what started out as a vending machine type of inventory management system we hilariously pivoted many times in order to get us to an employee-facing sales application. We found that after surveying many people that although inventory management was a prevalent issue, the bigger issue at hand was the loss of sales between the interaction between consumers and employees.
Our final pitch ended up working out beautifully. Our pitch was clear and concise. It really drove this idea that our product SalesMate "bridges the gap" between employee knowledge and customer expectations. I'll have to owe Jeff & Matt a pint at brass taps pronto. Here's a picture of me being excited with a 3rd place win! (Got the idea from Megan Voth's Blog) --> Feelin a lack of creativity atm --> My bad. The real question now is "Where's that red wine at?"
If you're reading this MJ, I just wanted to officially thank you for a great semester. You really made the night lectures entertaining and interesting. Keep doing you!
