GSK and Pfizer Settle Patent Dispute Over RSV Vaccine
GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and Pfizer have agreed to dismiss a U.S. lawsuit over claims that Pfizer's RSV vaccine, Abrysvo, infringed on patents behind GSK's rival shot, Arexvy. Filed in Delaware federal court, the case was dropped with prejudice, meaning it cannot be reopened.
GSK originally sued in 2023, alleging Pfizer's vaccine violated its antigen technology patents. Pfizer denied wrongdoing and had related GSK patents invalidated in a separate UK case. Both companies, along with Moderna, have FDA-approved RSV vaccines. GSK continues to pursue a separate patent case against Pfizer over its COVID-19 vaccine, Comirnaty.
