GSpa Singapore Review

So this is my 2cents & review of this place- pretty much random ramblings & may not be in sequence. All opinions are entirely my own.

Background info: G SPA is basically a place you can stay inside for up to 24 hours when you do a treatment (price list on their site) or just pay $68 to enter to enjoy their facilities- hot pool, steam room, (cold room & sauna only for men).

 If you do a treatment (ie. massage), you just pay the treatment price without adding the $68 again. Food & drinks are free flow (kinda like a buffet for 24 hours).

So example I did a 60mins massage for 155. That price includes everything already. (You can get $50 off by reading till the end)

Before going, I Googled for reviews but most of them are sponsored/ paid and did not cover what I wanted to know so I thought to share here. I mean whatever posted seemed to be copied off the GSpa site anyway so what is the point right?

*I went on a Friday evening so what I say below may not apply on other days. Also, I did not enter the male changing room so I cannot speak for that.

You will be assigned to a locker to keep your own belongings, that can be with unlocked with a 4 number PIN + your own (electronicish?) band- which is also how they identify you if you opt for massages/ treatments.

There are staff in the respective changing room if you are a blur gong and have no clue what to do- so don't worry.

Regarding attire- females wear their red robes with pants (with disposable bras & undies too).

In the (female) changing room, toothbrushes/ combs/ hair dryer/ shower gel/ are also available for you to use. So yes, you can practically walk in empty handed this place is super convenient. (Ok you need your wallet)

Most of their customers seem to be men in their 30s to 50s. Ratio of males to females is around 5 : 1.

The good thing is the (female) hot pools/ steam rooms are as a result mostly empty. (Great for not being in awkward eye contact situations.) 

But if you are the scaredy cat kind then, you may not wanna go in at 4am by yourself? Which I did la, then was hoping for some (human) company but aiya...

And this place is supposed to not have photography, but come on it’s too nice not to snap some pics right? Anyway no one else around so I won’t accidentally snap any nudes of others.

So anyway, this hot pool probably fits like 8 people?( & Even the drain has flowers 0.o, chio right?)

Oh and there is a smaller “locker” that you can keep your phones/ any other small items while in this area. (As you can see behind me)

HIGHLIGHT: Did a 60mins Gateway to Vitality Massage. 

I’m not sure if my body is in a damn terrible condition but I have seem to be in trouble during massages and probably would be screaming out in pain.

This time round I held in it and thought to myself- if I could survive it, I probably would live to 100 ha ha ha, given “Vitality”.

Since I didn’t make a sound at all, the lady applied more pressure until I eventually whimpered. Apparently she thought it wasn’t helping me much so she added more strength. Gah ok nearly died. (Note: if it hurts, tell them. Don’t tryna act hero).

But really, thought my neck was going to break when the lady snapped it both ways. My life flashed before my eyes, just a little. Yikes. 

[Update: 2 days later on a Sunday and I am still aching. Is it normal???]

Generally the food is pretty decent! Ate like a pig and covered almost all dishes. Also I quite liked their fresh fruit juices. 

Portion is pretty small. You can probably eat up to 3 to 5 portions between 2 people. Which is GOOD.

I quite liked their Laksa & Chicken (rice) without the rice. Rice was...not good (sorry). The soup that comes with the chicken rice is herbal & I liked it! 

Sweet & sour pork was alright.

Not sure how I feel about the lamb chop hmm. & Sadly the ‘famous’ Bak Kut Teh was not available on that day.

Smoked salmon sandwich & burger was so-so. Kaya toast was not bad/ I quite liked it!

(OH yeah- Pigs don’t have time to snap food pictures) 

If you are a smoker you will be happy to hear there is a smoking room- near the café- you can eat in there if you want to.

Their Wi-fi is a bit weak? There seems to be limited access so don't rely too much on it.

Unfortunately there really is not much to do inside other than being a sloth. Also, I tried sleeping in their mega dark lounge room but my neck started aching after a short nap. 

Partial reason why I got woken up is that the snoring from the other people inside this 'room' was kinda...intense hahahahaha. That's why I left so quickly since it was not a really good place to rest

There is some 'gym' facilities but...yeah other than that just be prepared to eat/ sleep & gain some kgs. But yes, go give it a try if you have the time/ money to spare.

*Although my initial plan was to stay in for 24hours, I left after about 9. Owell.

Apologise for the lack of images. Being lazy seemed to be my priority there.

Russian anti-GMO activists raise funds for ‘first-ever’ independent intl research

GMO production and distribution is likened to terrorism by the authors of a draft bill submitted to the Russian parliament earlier this week. It’s not the first comparison of the kind, according to Elena Sharoykina, director of the Genetic Safety Public Association GSPA, a 10-year-old NGO in Moscow, Russia’s major campaigner for GM free food and agriculture.
