Team RWBY for the How To Train Your Grimm!AU. Obviously the AU is based on HTTYD but with some slight changes.
In this AU, Ruby finds a Beowolf (Which she names ‘Crescent Rose’) and manages to raise it back to health after she injured it, and in doing so begins to learn all kinds of secrets to do with the Grimm, which she then shares to the rest of her friends. Various things happen, yatter yatter, the entire island of Patch ends up befriending Grimm of their own and training them for all sorts of tasks.
Been working on these all week, I’m so so excited to finally be sharing them with you! I’ll also draw up their outfits and Grimm separately later on too.

Rather than Patch being one single village with a single tribe, Patch is an island owned by three different tribes. The Xiao Long tribe, the Belladonna tribe and the Schnee tribe. The tribes don’t get along swimmingly, but have to unite over the problem of Grimm and formed a training grounds in shared territory to train their warriors. Ruby and Yang are from the Xiao Long tribe in the south east, Weiss from the Schnee tribe in the north, and Blake from the Belladonna Tribe in the South West.
Ruby was testing a new invention and tested it on the Beowolves as they were climbing the cliffs of Patch in the night. She managed to hit Crescent just before an Ursa attacked her, which lead the villagers into believing she was incompetent and needed training. Before such a time, she traveled down to the bays below the cliffs to her personal chillout spot, only to find an ensnared Beowolf there. She wasn’t able to bring herself to kill it, so instead released it. But the beast had a broken leg, so couldn’t get far.
Over a few weeks, Ruby continued to visit Crescent Rose and nurture her back to health. In that time the two formed a close bond, to the point where Ruby got the idea of riding her. Creating a saddle, Crescent allowed her to do so and found she could run even better under Ruby’s command. Since then, the two explored the entire island of Patch together, and even managed to get to the neighboring islands.
Of course, everyone was wondering where on earth Ruby was learning how to handle Grimm from. Particularly Blake. But once Blake got to ride with Ruby and Crescent herself, she started to understand. She even befriended Gambol Shroud, a Juvenile Nevermore that was shot down by one of her tribe.
Eventually Ruby managed to convince everyone that Grimm could be befriended, and slowly everyone came around to that way of life. Things became better, but there was a lot out in the world yet to be discovered…
