GTA5

GTA5 is a representative game in STEAM game. it has two version, which is firmly open world game that many users can meet and make their own world and lead character’s life on their own. Secondly, the game can be played alone by following game’s story line just like completing one whole movie.

CHARACTER

The game’s 3 main character is Michael, Franklin, and Trevor. Each character has their own story and users can play with all of them and switch the playing character when ever they want. These 3 characters meet and make a team in the middle of the game and cooperate to success missions.

Among 3, i chose ‘Michael’ as a main character of my movie. He can be explained as ‘unfortunate millionaire’. He was a bank robber in the past and got big wealth by hogging all the money that he stole with his friends. He betrayed his friends and got all of stolen money. But the future that he expected after being millionare didn’t came. He wanted to make a movie, and wanted to enjoy happy life with his family. But his plan to be a movie maker was destroyed by sponsors (capitalists) who wanted to stole his wealth. Also, his wife had affairs, his daughter ran away from home to be a porn actress, and his son was addicted to drug and gambling. His life was totally failed and he even suffered from guilt of betraying his friends. His mental became unstable and he became more and more violent.

GAME STORY LINE

Michael and Trevor were bank robber team. But Michael betrayed Trevor and got all the money himself. But Trevor didn’t knew the truth and believed Michael was dead. But one day, they just meet each other and become team again including Franklin. They cooperate and complete missions together.

VIDEO STORY LINE

Different from original game story, I wanted to focus on the life of Michael. At the beginning of video, I want to show the reason of Michael’s violence and personality. I will show the scene of robbing bank, betraying his friends. Also showing how Michael’s family destroyes Michael’s anticipation toward family might explain his frustration. He got deeply frustrated and finally he bursts his anger. 

He loses control of himself and couldn’t bear anger any longer. He crushes in to police office, shoots police officers, abruptly hits passengers, steal other’s car, and just do whatever he wants. Police chases him but his violence doesn’t fear anything and just keeps destroying everything.

In the last of movie, he comes back to home. He is really exhausted, and feels everything is meaningless. He strives to escape away from reality and drink drugs. He solitarily looks around his home but there is no one who cares him. He walks in to son’s room, and inhale drugs. He got into mental disorder and in the moment, police rush into his house and he is arrested.

By making video plot, I just wanted to experience everything that I can never realize in reality. So I just tried extreme actions like inhale drug, run into car, jump from cliff, I wanted to know how this virtual game reality react to these actions, and the result was amazing. The game scene just reacted as it is reality and it had no difference. I could do every little things in game as it is real.
