Artist -> Boya ボウヤ
[ボウヤ]
I've recently discovered this artist, gtsleep1200, and have immediately fallen in love with their style. They have truly mastered the rules of soft and hard edges, with insides of their silhouettes being extremely minimal, most of the definition done through soft rendering instead of lines.
And yet, their volume and textures are exquisite: skin, feathers and fabric all having their own feel. I also adore how they are confident enough to make certain edges disappear, e.g. character hair blending into the background, or, much more subtly, facial features disappearing into the face.
I'm also enamored by their composition and subject use. I have never had much interest in backgrounds, I don't like doing composition and even if I use a 3D render to help myself, I still find it a chore. So, I am fascinated by how this artist fills their canvasses with characters in such an interesting way, creating a rich composition with semi-abstract elements and collaging objects over each other to find new special meanings within their works.
I really like the body becoming completely invisible here, character reduced the their face, gorget, and hands.
I did an art study of Gtsleep1200 again, then I made an Oc for once. His name is Interitus, which means decay in Latin. I’m still working out his lore.
