Guardian Feremera : Of course, he is the person I look forward to the most, and I have been very careful with him. It would be a pity if he died, and of course he is aware of what would happen. Everyone is aware, but he refuses to reveal it. He's on stage and his goal is to make everyone around him believe he's charming as much as possible.

Guardian Ceris : Of course, both Cindy and Felix were loved by all the aliens. so this round caused me a lot of stress. I know that Cindy was both scared and aware of what was coming...She just..didn't show it.

So do you talk about how you knew how important this kiss was to the fandom, or how you and Michael, or David, really, talked about how you went into that scene to prepare yourselves? Talk about the nuances, the meaning, the real guts of what that kiss meant?

i think he talks about being private about his dating life in the guardian interview

I just reread it and it isn't the one I was thinking about. This is the section he talks about "dating in the spotlight":

Int [narrating]: His adolescence was stolen by the tabloids. Even the smallest most unsavory details.

Int: You've become very skilled at not answering questions.

H [grinning and nodding]: at not answering questions. Yup.

Int: You're aware of this skill, you've developed it?

H [grinning]: I like to duck and dive

Int [narrating]: At home on the stage, comfortable in his own skin. But still firmly determined to be a man of mystery when the stage lights go out.

Int: Alright, you're on a date with somebody.

H [interrupting]: Yeah..

Int: Let's say you're walking in a park...

H [interrupting]: How's the hypothetical date going? It's going well?

Int: You're hopeful. And then up ahead there's some rustling, there's a photographer..

H [nodding]: Right...

Int: Picture, picture, picture...

H: I honestly don't think of that as part of a relationship.

Int: But it ends up being your life. If you were to go to a coffee shop right now, I'd be in a picture next to you...

H [smiling]: Then we're dating, I guess.

Int: Then we would be, that'd be an interesting storyline..

H: You're very handsome.

Int [narrating, referring to above segment]: Styles has been ducking and diving like that since before he could drive.

I also got the suggestion that it was from his Howard Stern interview. The interview has timestamps for each topic, and the segment of him talking about dating in the spotlight isn't under what they marked as "dating life" in the timestamps.

So if anyone else knows where this is buried in the Stern interview, please send me the timestamp!

For clarity, it's a segment where H talks about going out with someone while being famous, and, if I remember correctly, he specifically references going in restaurants through the back to avoid being seen etc. And how he'd 'protect' his relationship from the public for as long as possible. (I think this was it...I don't remember much else, as I read/watched it nearly 2 years ago).
