Creative Expression or Racism? You Decide.
During Black History Month, the iconic, Gucci fashion label received backlash for releasing what many called insensitive merchandise. A Balaclava knitted black sweater that covers most of the face and has a mouth opening with red lips (pictured above). This sweater retailed for $890 before it was pulled from their website. Gucci has since issued an apology and announced a big push to increase diversity hiring, but not before thousands of people spoke out against what they considered blatant racism including rappers 50 Cent and T.I.
