On this day, 1977, Red Army Faction memebers, Gudrun Ensslin, Andreas Baader, and Jan-Carl Raspe were found dead in their respective cells in Stammheim Prison (Ensslin hanged, Baader and Raspe shot). Officials called them suicides, but many believe they were murdered by the state. In fact, a fourth RAF member also imprisoned at Stammheim, Irmgard Moller, allegedly stabbed herself four times in the chest.
