👁 First time I was ever in a magazine as an artist was #UnsignedHype in @thesource March 2003 issue. Actually maybe we was in something else before that but the first one I remember right now is that jawn. I was proud af. I remember telling K the news that Gotti from the Source fux wit our shit and we gonna be mf’in Unsigned Hype in like 2 issues. (Btw where is Gotti 🤔??) Anyway U couldn’t tell me shit. My face was up in the Source (like that Biggie line) 👁 A-Alikes had been grindin for a few years living in NYC doing all the shit that starving artists do to survive and to get that recognition meant the world to us. To put it in context Biggie was Unsigned Hype, @mobbdeepqb was Unsigned Hype, @dmx , @eminem , I think @jayelectronica was right after us or before us, etc etc.That shit was big... kinda like that XXL Freshman shit a few years ago. Anyway from that we immediately got invited to go on our first nationwide tour opening up for the homies @deadprez on the @lyricistlounge tour (s/o to @dcashflow74 & @antmarshall ). I remember @killermike was on that tour with us and would shout us out on radio interviews before the shows saying “y’all gotta get to the show early cuz these dudes A-Alikes spittin that real shit”.
