The Android Wear hype train continues. GUESS, the “global fashion powerhouse,” will be next to enter the Android Wear space with two smartwatches. These will continue to stack up the number of options which are available now, if not, will be soon. Following a not so good fall, Android Wear has entered the spotlight yet again, right on the heels of TAG Heuer, who announced a new Connected Modular 45 smartwatch last week. Like it, the new GUESS Connect line of watches is aimed at the high-end market and comes with Android Wear 2.0 as well as the Google Assistant pre-loaded.
Just yesterday, premium watchmaker, GUESS, surprised us with their announcement of two new Android Wear offerings. The smartwatches make up the company’s GUESS Connect line, and will hit stores later this year.
GUESS Connect will come in two sizes, one for men and one for women. The ladies Connect smartwatch is composed of a crystal design that looks just like a piece of high-end jewelry. The guys version of the watch is more casual and looks like a traditional Android Wear smartwatch with its round face and standard styling. Both, however, are made of top-tier materials, as you can tell from the images we’ve included in this post. Neither model includes an IP rating, so our guess is they’ll be fragile. Not the durable kind we have come to like. Interchangeable band options will be available at the point of release.

In terms of specifications, we’re getting near the same for each of the two models. Both have circular AMOLED displays that are 390×390 in resolution. Both feature a single hardware button, or dial, along their right side and are powered using Qualcomm’s small yet powerful Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor. Memory space, RAM and battery capacity are among the unknowns.
On board in terms of features, we have Google’s Android Wear 2.0 platform, which includes a range of new features and design implementations. Full details here. Also present will be the Google Assistant for voice recognition, as well as a keyboard, for easy input of text. No word has been mentioned on if either of the two will be equipped with NFC to take advantage of wireless payments using Android Pay.
GUESS will begin selling its Connect line of Android Wear timepieces this Fall. Men will be stuck with just one color option, however the model made for women will come in choice of Silver, Gold and Rose Gold variations. Pricing is yet to be announced, but is expected to be high considering the emphasis put on exterior design. Small bits of details can be read over at the source link below.
