assorted thoughts on this week's episode:
~ Olruggio's "you spoil them" and then that cheerful little humming-agreeing noise he makes when Qifrey goes "but they're so hard on themselves 🥺" and also the way Olruggio is like "if you could all stop floating around bitching at each other and maybe help with all these civilian casualties that would be great" ooohh your honour I love him very much
~ @feu-eau you mentioned the idea of a Yuumori AU where Mycroft is in the Knights Moralis and you are so right and also I actually think Easthies' dub voice would have suited Mycroft nicely (I get really tired of J Michael Tatum's Sebastian voice lmao)
~ I continue to be in love with the sound and music in this show. The lulls and transition bits are so soft and calming and gentle.
~ For some reason the scene where Tartah is explaining all the ingredients to Coco almost made me cry. The way his skills are so highlighted and she appreciates them so much even though they're not magic in the strictest sense is lovely, and it feels like a neat callback to how much Qifrey appreciated her fabric-cutting. Also I like him bandaging her leg being so much a background thing that's happening. It feels like something that would often be romanticized or even borderline sexualized but instead it feels so practical. He's just one kid sticking a bandaid on another kid's scraped knee while they yap together about stuff and it's adorable.
~ I can't stop laughing at Qifrey being Deeply Unsettling both in the sense of being intentionally menacing and also in the sense that it feels like he's on the verge of a very scary Menty B (the way his voice is kind of breaking and quavering Joshua Waters you are making the hair on the back of my neck stand up) and then he just switches to the tiniest cheeriest little "Coco! 🥰🥰🥰" when the scene cuts 😅
~ Rhetorical musing: okay so like Qifrey definitely has one of those memory-erasing doohickeys like built into his Obligatory Covered Eye of Mystery and Horror, doesn't he? (don't answer that.) Is that whatever tragic thing he and Olruggio have going on? (don't answer that.) Every time you look unobstructed into your true love's eyes he forgets you (at least up until whatever the reset point for these thingummies is)? (don't answer that.) That would be angsty as fuck.
