@guesswefucked // For the past six months, the idea of divorce seemed to get better and better for Shayna. Samuel had grown intolerant with her, his words often reducing her to tears and his weeks away from home driving her closer and closer to loneliness. She had uprooted her entire life for him and at the time, it had seemed like a brilliant idea. Samuel was this wealthy handsome man who seemed to taken with her. He doted on her, brought her gifts and was nothing but gentle. But his once sweet attitude had changed around year two of marriage. Shayna knew he’d been cheating on her, it hadn’t taken her long to figure out and Shayna was sick of it. She was secluded, lonely and just wanted it all to end. Hesitantly she had sought out the help of a divorce lawyer to talk over logistics and to potentially draw up papers. The young woman was discreet in her efforts, knowing that if Samuel suspected something he could easily find out what she’d been up to. The meeting had begun almost twenty minutes ago and Shayna didn’t feel much better about the ordeal. With the prenuptial agreement Samuel had her sign, she’d be left with little money. Just enough to maybe go back to her hometown and put a deposit on an apartment and maybe get a clunker of a car. As much as she hated it, life with Samuel seemed better than going back to the middle of nowhere midwestern town that had torn her down as a girl. Shayna sighed and looked up at the lawyer, who was very nice and seemed to be helping her to the best of her ability. “I’m sorry if I seem a little bit emotional, it’s just hard to swallow,” Shayna said with a sad smile. “I just want to be happy, you know? It’s unfortunate I have to think about all these finances.”
