I love it when you get a game and you think it’ll be pretty standard, having similarities to other series and having roughly standard fare early game plots. You know, getting back stolen items or helping push out a band of thieves with hilarious dress sense one way or another. Then you have a treasure hunt for stuff possibly related to legendary beasts of immense power, but then the legendary beasts turn out to be a minor plot point that’s irrelevant to an even larger overarching plot and never come up again. Then you have weirder stuff happens because aliens and necromancy exists, and soon you’re fighting the weaponized brains of a space monster or the undead saurian legions of a wizard who wants to take over your body or maybe even a lunatic who decides to use evil energies and become a mutated dragon thing to keep from losing. Also Tyrannosaurus Rex looks like Darth Maul, I’m not kidding.

Guhnash the Planet Eater, but in a nice remastered design using a hint of spec bio (those funky teeth are based on rock grinders, for crunching planetary hulls, and the feelers detect micro-disturbances in the measly space dust for potential life to consume)
