What to do when your favorite band runs into you?
Don't fangirl. You're seem annoying. Chances are, they're trying to get somewhere. So, say hi, ask for a quick picture, and be on your way.
Bands you want to see this year?
Over 50 bands that I really like that are going this year.
Bands you recommend to see?
If you really like a band that isn't going, I would check out the entire list. Listen to one or two songs by each artist, and figure out what you want to do. I can't really answer this. Everyone has different music taste.
What not to do?
fight people in pits for no reason
don't be an asshole with the pushing. I get you're excited, but fuck, relax.
Don't force people to mosh.
What should you expect as a first-timer?
People, music, band members, expensive shit, merch, food, water slides, heat.
What to always have?
Water; you N E E D to stay hydrated. Sunscreen, it sucks when you forget. First time I went I only applied it once, and had sun poisoning. Money; you'll never know what you need. Food; you're going to need energy
How much money to bring?
It's a personal opinion. Some people bring 20 for food and that's it. But there's merch, and a lot of stuff there. I usually bring about 75-100 or more.
Concert Etiquette
Basically, don't be that one person that pushes everyone back during a set. There's crazy amounts of people. Just go in a pit if you want to, but don't drag others into it, that don't want to be. Common sense.
Should you expect to meet your favorite band?
Expect the unexpected.
How not to act like a dumb slut?
Don't throw your bra everywhere, I guess. I don't really like it when girls do that. It aggravates me, tbh. Don't go around flirting with all the guys because chances are they want nothing to do with you anyway, and are probably significantly older.
Bands you wish were playing?
I really wish Of Mice and Men were going so I can see them live for my first time like ever.
How to go to a signing?
Look at the schedule for the day, and if they're your favorite and they're having a signing, make sure you're in line at the right tent in time or else you probably won't get to see them.
How to meet new people?
Just strike up a conversation. If you guys are at the same set, you obviously enjoy the same music, use that as a conversation starter, and go from there.
How not to die in a pit?
Mosh at your own risk. Stand your own as much as you can. If you get dragged into one, try and squeeze your way out, or avoid as much contact as you can until it breaks. Or, do your best to say away from pits completely.
Water and canned food?
You're only allowed 1 bottle of water, and they have free watering stations. Usually crowded with people, though. Their water is expensive. If you bring in 5 canned food items to donate, you get a free jump the line pass.
How to get to the front?
Crowd surf, get to the venue early, or try and maneuver your way through people. I don't recommend that, though.
How to not die from the heat?
Drink lots of water, pour it on your head. Anything, so that you're safe from all that harmful sun ray shit. Find shade when you can, too.
