So my boyfriend of 8 months is Jewish, loosely so, and he goes to a private school that's the Jewish community center where I'm from. His senior trip is to Germany, Poland and Israel, and his guide is constantly talking about the holocaust, taking them to sites and not allowing them to go around and actually check them out or go into any museums. How do you feel about them not being allowed to do these things and see for themselves what the countries have to offer? Because I'm kinda torn.
1) With all due respect, your boyfriend isn’t “loosely Jewish,” he’s Jewish. Period.
2) It’s a guided excursion full of minors/youth, and if anything happens to any of them it’s the guide(s) that’ll be held responsible. His trip has a specific purpose and a pre-arranged schedule that the guide is sticking to. Nothing wrong with that.
