“ I'm fine⸻ !! ” He spoke through gritted teeth, which in translation meant that he wasn't fine at all — not when there is blood running down his leg. “ It's just a typical tuesday for me, you know. ” Sonic spoke, trying to maintain some composure. Sonic breathed harshly as he lets out a sharp hiss of pain. His white gloved hand was covered in his blood, pressing it against his wound.

Look at me. “ I- ” The blue hedgehog resolve has crumbled and finally looked up at Shadow. “ It's just some dumb badnik that caught me. I can walk it off. ” And Sonic plans on walking it off. Though that may not be the best idea. He just never liked having certain injuries to his legs; not wanting to be slowed down by it.

“ See? I'm fine... ” Breathing in deep, Sonic removed his hand to check the wound. One of Eggman's robots did managed to hit him. Their guns more laser-focused rather than bullet. And the bastard hit him across the side, nothing too bad but it is still bleeding, dripping down his blue fur. He lets out a sharp hiss, seeing the congealed blood and is relieved that it's not that bad. But fuck it hurts. “ See? Throw me back in coach, I can deal with this shit. Not my first rodeo! ” He lifts up with a grunt to stand up on his feet.

Insomnia starters

RAPH NODDED IN response, leaned back against the wall with a cigarette in one hand ( held away from the hedgehog, for...obvious reasons, ) opposite arm folded. " Me too. It's always nice...quiet, too. Don't gotta deal with Mikey bein' loud or Donnie's machines whirrin' all the time. " He hummed gently, taking a drag before speaking again. " I like goin' up to the surface late at night too, look at the stars. They're pretty. " Even if they made portals that summoned ancient monsters from another dimension every 3,000 years...

This was stupid, no scratch that. INCREDIBLY stupid. He pinches the bridge of his snout. “We shouldn't split up.” As much as he'd LOVE to stay behind, he wasn't going to let them just walts into danger alone. “We have no idea what we could be dealing with here.”

He knew it couldn't be anything good though. Not with the creeping sensation of DREAD he feels. “...I'll go with you.” And he'll gladly accept the offer of cowering staying behind them.

“ Too bad, I will ask you again. ” He's nothing but a pestering hedgehog sometimes. If he keeps asking it over and over again, will the other succumb? Probably not. Shadow is the Ultimate Lifeform. They may have an Ultimate Stubbornness. Typical. But it doesn't deter a smile from broadening on his face. As tired as he may be, Sonic's spirit remains.

“ Take a break. A break won't break you. Ha, you see what I did there? Is it so hard to take a break or is the Ultimate Lifeform a cluck-cluck chicken. ”

“ You sayin' that because you see yourself as a monster? ” Sonic began, eyebrows pinched together. “ Though you're right. They need do love. Do you need love, Shadow? ” It was said softly, not at all witty or jokey; just soft and quite serious in a way. “ Monster or not, everyone needs love in their lives, and you're so welcome to getting that love too, Shads. Love is for everyone. Not just for monsters. ”

     Said to the hedgehog that’s currently got the aforementioned gun pointed at the other. It wasn’t anything personal , much less malicious ; the way they had swiftly spun around with the weapon in the direction of the first sound that reached their ears without really looking would suggest as much. The fact that they lower it just as quickly only proves it.

His arms were up in the air when Shadow pointed their gun at him. He should've suspected this, but where was the fun in that? “ And you shouldn't point guns on people! ” Which is also unwise and very, very dangerous. Not that the blue hedgehog was a stranger to danger!

But once the gun was lowered, so did Sonic's arms. “ You do know that when someone sneaks up behind you, they wanna scare you for fun? You ever heard that word? Fuuuuun? ”
