Slightly long-post, written for what happened to Terras after everyone disappeared through the portal while the Illidari stayed on the Fel Hammer. Well, most of the Illidari did at least. Written as an aftermath drabble for the guild event last night.
{ Imara belongs to @ms-winford// Noitora belongs to @buttcollectorjellyfish// Terras and Ilyana are mine }
“You look like a kicked saber kitten.” A voice cooed from just outside of his vision. Ilyana floated into his field of sight, followed by her ever-present googly eyes of doom.
“I took a spike to the gut.” Terras casually threw out, as if Ilyana would just walk off after hearing that with a shrug.
The Kaldorei woman did not, however, just walk off after learning he had an abdominal injury, not that he expected her to. Instead, she forced his arms apart from where they were crossed over the injury so that she could take a look at it for herself.
The wound in and of itself wasn’t anything to write home about, it was a hole through the meat of his side. It had passed close to his liver, but he was certain he would be fine.. Eventually.
“This needs to be packed.” She said gently, “Where did your sister go?”
“I uh… snuck away?”
His fellow Illidari looked less than pleased at this explanation. In fact, she looked ready to hit him, if she had it in her to hit her companions. “And everyone else?”
“Imara stayed with the Slayer. She pissed my gossip buddy off pretty bad.” He chuckled a bit to himself, cupping his ribs with a groan. He was absolutely covered in bruises. “Noitora went off with said buddy through a portal to Silvermoon.”
Ilyana smiled at this. “It’s so good to see the Black Bull making friends.” She started to pull out supplies from her cloak, it was as if she carried medical equipment around just for this reason.
“I was so worried.” She piped up.
“About?” His nose twitched as she poured something-- he wasn’t really trying to watch-- onto his side. Ow.
“That he’d have trouble with us. But everyone came together to work on this. I’m so proud of all of you.”
Terras opted to look away from Ily’s face. She should probably hold onto that pride. He didn’t see much unity or friendliness between anyone the moment that Bloodmourne was dead. He tried to chose his words in a way that would convey that, but would spare Ilyana’s feelings, but he didn’t think there was a way to do that.
A ice pack kissed his ribs while she continued to work on his side. ‘Hold this’ she muttered.
He finally broke the fragile silence that held after her initial musing. “The Illidari are fractured, Ily, and before that, you know how we treated outcasts. Especially traitors.” He winced as she applied a bandage with some kind of medication on it.
“I know. I’m just proud that you all were able to do it, even for a little while. Maybe someday it’ll be like that all the time.”
“Yeah.” He stood, trying to sneak away from her now. Her quasi-philosophical yammering was beginning to make him rethink going back to active duty after being a handler for so long. “I have to get back to my sister--” He stated, “She’s probably worried.”
“Oh yes! Tell Ardelle I said ‘hi’!” She smiled at him again, warmly, one of her eyes bouncing up and down as if in agreement.
“Will-do.” He gave the former priestess a two-fingered wave, eager to escape everyone’s hovering in favor of a bar.
