End of the line? Or end of the road?
It is official that I have now played World of Warcraft for 1 year.
(Though that might be inaccurate based on my payment history, who knows...)
All I know is that when I first began playing and then stopped, it was a 6 month period and here I am at my second 6th month period.
Things feel rather nostalgic. I am at the point where the game's content has fulfilled it's purpose for me, or in other words, there's infinitely less to do now.
Also, if I were to depart at this time, I leave the way I came in - without a guild I could call home. That's not really a sad thing, though.
On the other hand, if I were to depart at this time, I leave with actually having a few (and I mean a few) people who I've socialized with, some of which I could consider friends... some of which goes without questioning (yes, you know who you are if you're reading this.)
At this point, I really, really, really want to do so much with the Draenei Priest who I've come to love, but things aren't looking too promising. The only things that I can really do at this point are:
b) Try to find a guild to run normal/heroic with
c) Go for "the Proven Healer" title.
And that's really it. I've considered PVPing but I really can't build enough interest in actually doing it.
Which brings me to yesterday...
My Horde guild (which is in the middle of Heroic progression) had a guild raid for their second group for non-core members and core members with alts. We didn't have enough geared people for normal, so we ran two Flex wings, 1 & 3. Aside from starting over 45 minutes late, 1 went fine. We had a few people from the core team on their mains, that being a tank who solo tanked Immerseus & Sha, a druid healer and a Shadow Priest topping the DPS chart. They avoided doing wing 2 because they were simply not interested or didn't need gear from it.
... and we wiped on Malkorok 3 times.
Personally, I think we were getting a bit ahead of ourselves.
But how was it raiding as a Rogue? Well, for starters, I really enjoyed the shift in perspective and it's more comfortable as a Rogue than as a Shadow Priest. In all but 1 fight, I was 3rd in DPS, but I suppose that would mean I was second out of the non-core group's toons. Given the potential ilevel differences we had for this, I guess I shouldn't be surprised as single target DPS was around 150k and went up to 260k for multi-target DPS. Not really impressive IMO, but I managed to grab a 540 ring and a trinket which I had the LFR version of... and some hands I couldn't use.
I don't know what to expect next, really. This guild likes to post all their events on Sunday and Monday even if they're doing something that day with this event being the exception. If anything happens in the future, it'll likely be on Sunday.
If they are serious about this second raid team, then I suppose I better start asking some questions because this could very much be the thing that keeps me playing.
