ok that would be like a gazillion characters LMAO but since i have eo3 on my mind, i'll talk about kalisi! (and ryuzir a bit by extension)

kalisi says they don't have any deep attachment to their mother, and this is true, even though part of why they left home on their quest was to find their brother and put him back in his place for upsetting their mom so much--but despite that, they named their guild in honour of her, not that they ever really tell anyone as much

as children, kalisi and ryuzir's mom would tell them all kinds of stories and folk tales, and their favourite one was when she would tell them about a secret, beautiful island somewhere far across the seas, a glistening place full of roses that sparkle and never wilt, and water still and shining like mirrors, like an oasis frozen in time

...they know she surely couldn't have been talking about the forest deep inside of yggdrasil. but, when they reach it, they can't help but wonder regardless

here's an eo question for you: what was mavy like?

mavy was very crafty and resourceful, an excellent engineer and arbalist despite her age. she was an orphan and street rat, and joined the guild when she was 15, had her 16th birthday after a few weks of exploring, and died shortly after that. she was a rough n tumble type who liked to go one step beyond what was asked of her; that combined with her hastiness and natural bad luck is what eventually killed her

she was good friends with aldryn, and saw him as an older brother. they both grew up in armoroad but weren’t very familiar with each other until rosevale was formed. he feels very guilty about her death, but he’ll defend her even now and swears the accident had nothing to do with her youth, and most people who knew her will agree.

still, rosevale’s new policy stands, if only to prevent anyone else from meeting a premature demise

long story short, a monk named kalisi has been traveling all over the world trying to find their brother, ryuzir, who just up and left his mother and younger sibling one day after a big series of arguments. naturally, kalisi eventually ends up in armoroad after years and years of searching for him

with their motivation wearing thin, and after noticing that having a guild in town comes with benefits, they pull together some necessary members (a zodiac they’d been in contact with for a while, a refugee princess and her companion hoplite, and a local gladiator who could also serve as their ship’s captain) so they can earn some funds for more traveling and also unwind from their family’s wild goose chase. they intended to leave as soon as possible and pass on the guild to their zodiac acquaintance, estrella, sure that they wouldn’t find their brother in armoroad

…oh, ryuzir’s there, of course. he’s a shogun employed to the senatus. but kalisi has noooo idea, and that’s an whole other story to tell later
