I could probably write a book on the topic, but the simplest argument for socialism is that we value Jobs as the resource, not Labour. Our biggest problem as a society is unemployment, as in, our biggest problem is people wanting to work, but unable to find gainful employment. Large chunks of entire generations are being declared UNEMPLOYABLE, because we are preventing people from getting the training for jobs that have massive manpower shortages.
We have 1-10% of the population controlling 90-99% of the wealth, (depending upon region), while the lower class is growing larger and larger, and making less and less money, (when compared with inflation).
1-a) Moneyless Socialism.
We could move to a sucesssful moneyless system in 5-10 years. Start increasing taxes while providing everyone with credit to pay for the necessities of life, as in provide everyone the same benefit from the taxation, but since taxation is relative to income, it would be the upper income earners who would be footing most of the bill. At the end of the period we could cover all necessary expenses, and simply give up (general) money all together, (keep luxury credits for the non-basics).
Most people don't end up with their career of choice, but don't mind a job as long as it doesn't require too much work and doesn't have an asshole for a boss. When we jave a deficit of labour in a field, simply recruit from fields that are overstaffed, (a lot of people with just a job prefer to move around every few years as it is).
Can you think of a single company who couldn't use an extra worker or two?, if they didn't have to pay for it, of course, (you don't actually have to find one, as I'm sure you've already passed a number that could).
Brings back guilds, mostly. A combination of unions, training organizations, and industry associations.
Make sure that the people can get the training they need for their jobs / careers. As it is, I'm looking to find camp work in the oil patch. They have a massive manpower shortage, but the necessary training could be up to $5000.
Anti-Feminism is a criticism of modern feminism, and believes the original feminist goals, equality, have more then been accomplished.
As much as I looked into history, despite the lack of proof, I still found myself believing in a deity. Unitarianism is an incarnation of Deism, (one of my philosophy teachers once said that philosophers either become Atheists or Deists; honestly, the only intelligent thing he ever said). Unitarianism tries to go back to the original spirit of Christianity, in it's name, Unitarianism rather then Trinitarianism. Trinitarianism was created by Emperor Constantine who convened the Council of Nicea, where the official dogma for Christianity was decided. The Emperor had been associating himself with Jesus, and making Jesus God meant Constantine was next to God.
Before the Council of Nicea, there was at least 32 gospels, 4 made it into the Bible.
This said, Unitarianism really has no interest in evangelising. As my professor said, philosophers tend to either end up as Atheists or Deists, and Unitarianism is where a lot of the Deists naturally end up.
We fully recognize that we can't prove anything, certainly don't expect anyone else to believe us, but if you are up for a discussion about the nature of Christianity, we'll usually be willing to give it a go.
We should only limit freedoms if it is to protect against verifiable harm. A huge amount of our laws not only do not protect us from anything, but actually make things much, much worse. The most controversial subjects often have the absolute worst laws surrounding them, because no one has the political will to base their decision on the fucking facts.
I want to believe that firearms should be reasonably available, but, in the US, where firearms ARE quite freely available, you have police officers being shot for traffic stops, (usually to protect something far worse). For people who have not seen a traffic stop in the US, they treat it like a bank robbery.
Also, I think it was Philidelphia where police officers were shot at, the police officers ducked and drove away like nothing had happened.
The RCMP bought one of the first machineguns and put it on the Alaska / Yukon border because this shit was incredibly common on the other side.
There is absolutely no good reason to get an abortion, just a bunch of really, really bad reasons on every side. The only reason it's legal is that if it was illegal women would be doing with coathangers in back alleys. As much as women like to talk about their bodies / their rights, once they get pregnant, it's not just their bodies anymore.
Like almost everything else, the best way stop abortions is economic prosperity.
Aside from those of medical necessity.
We do need clear lines on where it goes from non-baby to baby, and I am certainly not in a position to provide an informed opinion about when. That said, we need Doctors, and not political agitators, to make this decision, (I know, I know, using SCIENCE to give us FACTS; never going to happen).
6) Walking Around Money and the Middle Class
i.e. Discretionary Income
Discretionary Income is what makes the economy run.
Those in the minimum class make just enough to get by, and spend their money on base necessities.
The Middle Class makes enough money to get by, along with enough for decent discretionary budgets. They are the ones who keep our sushi restaurants running, our kayak tours going, our artisan works working, etc. They can also get themselves out of debt, whereas the lower class can only keep from defaulting.
It doesn't matter how much money a person in the upper class has, they are only going to buy so many cars, so many homes. For the price of a single rich bastard, you could probably provide 5x the number of homes and cars for working class families.
When did space become more valuable then gold? About a month / month-and-a-half ago, a woman in Boston paid $560,000 for two parking spaces.
We can build towers over a hundred stories high, but we still lack parking spaces. A number of cities have people paying absurdly high amounts of money for absurdly small apartments, (some of them not even a full floor in height). Legal Suites have become the norm for traditional homes, who then have to spend an hour commuting each way.
This is massively psychologically damaging, nevermind the physical and physiological stresses that are killing us, nevermind the toxic environments, etc.
Remember back in the day before Malls = Malls of Shopping?
Maybe not, except for those who have gone to some traditional colleges.
Anyway, combine residential, commerical, light industrial, recreational facilities into the same building. Surround them by suburbs, surrounded by farm/park land. Add mass transit between the towers and you're golden.
9) While we're on the topic, TRAINS
Every other part of the world is adding more and more, faster and faster trains, what does North America, which was LITERALLY built on the train doing?, dismantling ours.
We deserve the I'm With Stupid award, (both the US and Canada have one, and stand next to each other).

The concept of our roads hasn't changed since roads were first invented. Now, in cities, we have millions of:
-Light Motorized Vehicles
All using the same road system, that was THOUSANDS of years ago, when they had:
-one rich asshole ruining it for everyone else
The fun thing about Metropoles is that they have really tall buildings, we could separate the layers vertically.
A local mall recently converted less then 1% of their rood space to rain catch, which can provide all of their non-potable water needs. Imagine if we covered the dead space of officer towers with solar pannels, (who wouldn't even need batteries for load balance, as Daylight conveniently coincides with work hours, meaning peak usage hours, (almost as if they designed regular work hours to coincide with daylight, or something). Image if we harnessed an office tower's prodigal height for wind farming?
You could easily combine all three in the same building, and even hook up microhydro plants to the water usage, (dropping water from the top of a skyscraper to the bottom takes very extensive machinery to prevent the massive pressure from bursting the pipes; we could harness that power).
It's almost as if FREE isn't good enough for businesses, (who, like most probably don't care about long term profits, just short term ones).
Passive solar heating / lighting.
WE HAVE SOMEHOW FORGOTTEN THE SUN PROVIDES FREE LIGHT AND HEAT. Honestly, with the right design, you can use heat from the sun to cool a building.
Everything except grain is universally better the shorter the distance is to the plate.
Grow what we can locally, eat what we can locally.
Apprently a difficult concept.
15) Corporate Death Penalty
If they want to be treated like people, we can give them what they want. No corporation should have a right to life.
16) Corporate Prison Sentences
Okay, we can't exactly put a corporation behind bars, but if you start locking up officers for breaking the law, you might actually make some progress to stop them.
For those who don't know, Somali pirates started because a number of companies took advantage of the lack of government to pour massive amounts of toxic waste off the Somali coast. The pirates started from the small gangs who got together to stop them.
Should go without saying, but I guess I have to. Want to know what the best justification for extending marriage to covers homosexuals is?, they can adopt. We have more children then parents to care for them, meaning we could take care of two birds with one stone, (not any sort of sexual metaphor).

The Military, quite frankly, does a number of things MUCH better then the civilian world. Without going into excessive detail, there's a difference between militariliy ready, and militarily aggressive.
There is never going to be perfection, but if we keep trying, we can improve ourselves and society.
And that's just to scratch the surface...
