My favorite ads so far for the new book based on @campoakhallows, written by VL Gaffney.

Apparently, the appeal of the story hasn’t been enough to garner interest, so I’m trying a new approach: PLEASE GIVE TO THIS KICKSTARTER to support 501c3 education innovation.

Camp Oak Hallows is the first of its kind — prioritizing student agency over their learning, and supporting staff in their unique approaches to teaching. This school is being designed by and for minorities and disabled people who have been pushed out of educational environments and other “advanced” research and development sectors of employment, to create truly accessible, equitable and sustainable programs that will evolve with technology and time.

Oh, and speaking of sustainability. The idea is to construct the campus grounds as green and eco-conscious as possible, supporting as many small businesses and environmentally friendly manufacturers as possible. YOU COULD GET ON THAT SUPPLIER LIST. If you make clothing, cleaning supplies, home goods, anything honestly, you could become a long-term contractor if not full time staff member teaching production methods to Campers and helping keep “import” needs low.

And just one more thing: OAKS (the book) is written by the President and Founder of Camp Oak Hallows as a direct fundraiser for the school’s construction. VL Gaffney is working to become a foster parent, and “designated respite home” to take in several foster and houseless youth at a time. Not to mention, offering low- to no- cost registration and tuition to children in Housing Authority residency, and children of enlisted parents.
