We are now at avenham for coffee or ice cream!!! My butt hurts!!!
Ok so we are like more than a third of the way through and have been healthy in lunch so far therefore we deserve ice cream when we get to Avenham park
Guild Wheel
Today I completed the Guild Wheel bike ride with my best friend and her friend.
I wouldn't say we 'successfully' completed it - but we got around in one piece...just. My silly bike had two punctures along the way. One we managed to repair - the other, not so much. We had to call on 'dad-the-sat-nav-Singleton' to tell me if there were any garages nearby (because he knew exactly where we were!) and then sent 'Mum-the-AA-Singleton' out to come and pick up my bike...and Suzy, because she had to get to work. This all happened at mile 12.
Myself and Helen made it to the end (21 miles) after 5 hours, where we rewarded ourselves with a chocolate brownie and the mother of all lemon cakes! However we actually only spent 3 hours riding, which I think is pretty impressive.
I'm so glad we did the ride and I felt so great afterwards; it was a real achievement. Next time we do it we will be so much faster as we will know the route better (and I'll have a better bike!).
I loved spending quality time with my girls today and it just brought to light the ridiculous amount I am going to miss them, especially Helen, when they go to university in September. But I'll leave that to another post because today has been a happy day and I don't want to ruin it.
Happy Wednesday, everyone. I hope you have had a productive day as well!
