For those of you who are new, apologies, I’m a huge sap.

It’s October 2nd, and one year ago, I made this blog with the help of the goddess we all know, Laina @ohtheclevernessofme1972. She encouraged me to join this wild and fantastic community and I couldn’t be more grateful.

I know I’m not the most talented cosplayer here, hell, most of my work is shoddy and half-assed, but nevertheless I’m proud of what this blog is now. And I’m so excited to celebrate a year with you guys.

I’ve said this before, but I notice every single follower, read every single tag, watch for every single note, answer every single ask. It’s cause I want to thank you all for being so loving and supportive.

Some of the milestones of this blog:

I’ve started creating my own threads!

We’ve reached 225 followers! (This one floors me.)

I had my first post reach over 200 notes! (Patel to Potter.)

I’ve met my idols - @sirussly @ohtheclevernessofme1972 @egdramaqueen @amarrieus @wallyscags-patronus (and this one slays me.)

I’ve started doing Selfie Sunday with @loonylillies @spidey-boii @wackybutton! (Not a lot of self-confidence so this is a huge step for me.)

Tell me about your culture?

There’s a lot to tell! I suppose I can go into what I adhere to the most.

So I’m Indian, specifically Gujarati. If you look at a map on India, that’s the state on the west-most hook. Our fashion is similar to the rest of India- salwaars, Punjabi suits, Anarkali style, etc. I wear a lot of kurtis and Anarkali style dresses, I even wore one to prom.

We also have amazing snack food. My father’s family actually is in the food industry in India. Google samosa, ghantiya, and khaman. That’s the good spicy stuff there.

I’m also Jain, which is an Indian minority but common in Gujarat. This means nonviolence, vegetarianism, constant search for knowledge, and rebirth until my soul accumulates enough knowledge to free itself (moksha).
