What my Kid is Reading Wednesday

Since we’re talking about Spring here what better book to read than one about the seasons?   

I love this book for a handful of reasons.  Aside from learning about the seasons and you also go Month to Month.  It’s a great way to introduce your little one(s) to the name of each month along with the seasons and weather changes.  There are also prompts at the bottom of each page - a list of words for you  and your little one to  then look for on each page.  You can even turn it into a friendly race.  Turning reading time into  a game is always a bonus in our home!

Smelling Spring

My favorite thing about spring is the smell! I love the smell of grass after it is cut for the first time. The smell of the wet ground and mud after the first spring rain. The smell of the flowers especially tulips. Yellow tulips are the most wonderful! In Pennsylvania/Ohio spring and fall are the 2 shortest seasons and if you blink you seem to miss them. I love to be outside as much as possible in the few short weeks we do get spring. Digging in the dirt,planting flowers or just sitting on the porch enjoying the fresh wonderful smelling air! 🌷

Ok, ok. There are a few things I like about spring...mostly how easy it is to be outside. In the winter there's so many clothes to fight about. By the time we finally get outside I'm done. I'm ready for a nap. And no shoes! Shoes are the worst. We try to eat all the meals outside before we're over run with mosquitos. Mosquitos are coming - get it? Instead of Winter is Coming. There's nothing better than sitting at a ball game with a beer, a hot dog, and awesome friends. And that view of downtown Minneapolis is killer. It's the official start to spring. If only I didn't have to wear shoes.
