Something so shattering about Yuwu is that the person Mo Xi loves is just left in pieces. while they do get their "happy ending" in a way, Gu Mang remains just a shadow of his former self. the process of trying to fix someone who is that broken can end up breaking you even more. a hard lesson to learn and remember. and Gu Mang was simply too selfless. :( he gave everything until there was nothing left of the man he used to be. that is exactly why I don't believe in nationalism and ppl fighting for land. it took a beautiful, vibrant soul and ground it into dust for the sake of an empire that didn't even deserve his sacrifice.
