I can't wait for this toxic love triangle.
The audacity to look at my beloved tsundere papasote like that, like he's not the one who's third wheel here, sticking his nose into lovers' business.
Lol it really is Fei Foon and his two men😅. Our beloved tsundere Leuk Tou has a love rival coming hie way. How will he handle it?
I'm watching their IRL clips and I love how they bicker and fight over Kingston (Fei Foon) and act possessive over him lol. Obviously it's just fanservice and promo; they're playing into their characters' dynamics in the show. But it's still cute. Hopefully fans don't take it seriously and start whole ship wars🤦♀️. I've seen it happen. I already saw one comment complaining about how Kingston keeps "choosing" Leo over Sing and Sing suffering in his "one-sided feelings". It's not that deep. It's a job.
Having binged eight episodes of Bittersweet Love in the past two days, and setting myself up to binge the last four tonight....I have a lot of thoughts and emotions.
The most prominent being rage whenever this entitled ass shows up.
Can he disappear sometime soon? I feel like there are enough rich people with resources around to make that happen.
Ash (煙灰) Behind The Scenes
The fighting scenes are badass even behind the scenes🔥
Just as gay as it was in Mr Kill.
Just watched the trailer for Ash (煙灰) the series and these two moments:
Just made me realize that they definitely will be including that arc in the live action as well..

I'm not entirely certain, but I think this mf will be playing the role of whatever that guy's name was in the novel (his name is Shawn in the live action) who is the mastermind behind the whole cross-border counterfeit money business in which Officer Fei Foon will go undercover for.
I can't remember exactly how he clocked Fei Foon was undercover, but I remember that he's described as exceptionally smart in the novel. So he found out, abducted him and held him captive for months, while torturing and repeatedly raping him and constantly taunting Leuk Tou, using Fei Foon to control him because he knew Leuk Tou loved Fei Foon. He had his biggest enemy's one and only weakness right in his grasp.
His initial goal was to break Fei Foon, but the more time he spent with him and slowly got to know him as a person, I guess you could say he got a major case of 'lima syndrome'🤷♀️. The psychopath was intrigued by Fei Foon's beauty and unbreakable spirit and ended up "falling in love" with him.
At some point, I started skimming the book because the amount of rape was just too brutal and unnecessary, so I might have missed some key parts, but I do remember dude becoming pathetic and desperate for Fei Foon's love and tried everything to keep him; he even sent Leuk Tou a man who was Fei Foon's exact lookalike so Leuk Tou would stop searching for Fei Foon and think he was reunited with his love, while he gets to possess the real deal.
I've been seeing the actor who plays Shawn in a lot of promo videos and pictures as like the third main cast member, so I'm guessing they might twist the main antagonist arc into a classic love triangle story in the live action, rather than the psychological horror it was in the novel.
And in the live action it seems he and Fei Foon have some sort of history and close friendship, and he already seems besotted with Fei Foon from the beginning, judging by this scene.
When all that wasn't the case in the novel, I believe. So yeah. The live action is a hundred times better than the novel already with just two episodes out. I trust it'll be the same for this storyline.
Show vs Novel
So, since the show didn't reveal what happened to the other characters after Luqing's and Fan's wedding, I will enumerate 😊 This is how it all ended in the novel.
1. The friends (Ziyang and the other guy that I cannot remember the name lol)
It was mentioned in Ep 11 that one of the friends immediately figured out what went wrong and how they lost all that money with Lu Tao specifically targeting their positions. So, both friends and Lu Qing were able to recover some of their money after Lu Tao was arrested. Thus, they were not really financially ruined, just really really pissed lol
After what happened, laws have been passed to make "disruption of the market" have more severe punishments.
2. Lu Tao
It is mentioned in the final episode that Lu Tao was imprisoned for five years for his part in the conspiracy. He also earned a life time ban as an investor along with Zhiqin. It was never really clearly stated why Lu Tao wanted to bring Luqing down in the first place, other than he wants revenge on behalf of Zhiqin for what happened in the past.
It was mildly implied that Lu Tao and Zhiqin are in a relationship although it was never expanded on by the author.
3. Zhiqin
Losing again to Luqing carries more weight because now, he has to find another way to start anew. Him and Lu Tao have some savings though and I already forget what they chose to do with it to survive lol. However, despite everything, him and Fan remained friends, much to Luqing's disgust.
(The reason why Zhiqin dropped Fan's call in the show is because he already knows Luqing was trying to find Fan through him and he didn't want it to be easy.)
Him and Luqing remained frienemies until the end.
4. The Lu Family
Mum still wears the metaphorical pants as she kicks Ping out and threatens him to get his life in order or live in exile lol.
The girl Ping impregnated gave birth to a son, Dou Dou. The girl now owns a string of hairsalon and consistently tells Xiao Ping to get lost whenever he mentions marriage.
The little sister now owns a small electronic store and the little brother (yes, they have another brother in the novel though he wasn't shown in the series) is graduating from uni with a degree in agriculture.
The dad is less of a shithead and does shut up whenever the mum tells him to. That's the reason why Fan was invited to give respects to the ancestors as a wedded husband in the first place. Mum definitely redeemed herself by end of the novel.
5. The Bei Family
Shen Wubi (the mum) still cannot accept Fan as a "daughter-in-law", but since Luqing is already financially independent from her and Fan can be a little gremlin troll when he wants to, she is near giving up putting up a fight 🙃
Bei Mosha (the dad), on the other hand, figured out that there are far more worse problems in the world that needed his attention compared to having a publicly out gay son and his husband so he leaves them alone lol
Bei Luxin decided to pack her bags and go somewhere remote (like Africa or something). She hasn't come back and refuses to come back home when Fan and Luqing finally came home from their wedding abroad.
Aaaand that's it. That's how the novel ended. Lemme know if I forgot anyone that should be included in this list.
