When watching shows with these types of characters, it's always interesting to observe the assistants. Because they always know their bosses even better than the bosses know themselves, and they understand their feelings very well, even the ones that are unspoken..

The way he hesitates..

He knew the news about Wai Keung would be a lot more important than any work schedule. Because he already clocked that Wai Keung is not just some bed partner to Leuk Tou but actually very important to him. He knows that Leuk Tou already lost his heart to Wai Keung, even if he's never said it and is always wearing that mask of indifference. And he knew Leuk Tou would lose his composure to learning his news..

Not him immediately calling him..

In the novel, Leuk Tou is a very arrogant man who constantly took advantage of Wai Keung's feelings and only realized that he was in love with him long after he was gone. Which is bollocks to me and is the type of storyline that completely turns me off a story because it doesn't make the love between the two characters feel believable to me...

But in the live action, we already see very early on that Leuk Tou is in love with Wai Keung even though he may not admit it to himself. Thank goodness for that.

Watching him walk away with longing and regret in his eyes after they had an argument and he accidentally hurt him..

Going to his apartment after finding out he's missing and might be dead, and thinking back to all the times they were together. Missing him.

Novel Leuk Tou could never. It took him several Venus days. I hate that beech.

Another reason I like the live action. This Leuk Tou is straightforward about his feelings from the beginning. Even though it sucks that he doesn't see Wai Keung as someone who's worthy to publicly be by his side, at least he's honest. Unlike novel Leuk Tou who just kept leading him on, making excuses as to why he doesn't want to be seen with him, playing with the poor man's feelings. I much prefer this..

Well news flash, you're a thug, too. The only difference is you hide it behind legitimate wealth and an expensive suit, buddy.

At least Wai Keung knows where he stands and has full consent on whether he decides to stay or go. It's better than a person lying about their intentions and selling someone a false imagine of love, making them feel secure over something they know is a lie.

I hope he suffers though.

This part cracked me up because how can you say "don't run" to someone you just attacked with a knife and are very clearly trying to kill? Did they expect him to stop and say "oh, my bad" while he's already bleeding from a wound caused by one of their blades?

And of course bro still had time to fall in love at first sight while he's literally busy running for his life and becoming weak from blood loss..

This is something I never understood. Even in whole zombie apocalypses, people would still have time to fck each other. In A Quiet Place , that woman and her husband really made another child in a world taken over by aliens that kill any living thing that makes a sound. They brought a baby into such a world, when babies always cry. She had a silent birth, fighting those labour pains trying not to make a peep lol

I suppose it's just animal instinct, wanting to survive and procreate so the species doesn't become extinct. An ancient evolutionary wiring?

Yeah, the live action is way better than the novel. I like this Fei Huan, or Wai Keung, as he is called in this version. He has personality. He's shameless and not afraid to go after what he wants.. This scene is so good. I keep replaying it.

His eyes‼️. He couldn't make his intentions any clearer. That's so badass of him.

I love how Xu Luetao (Loek To) teasingly burnt him with the cigarette and asked him "did that burn?" and he just laughed and said "you punk". They are so playful and flirty and their chemistry just feels natural.

I love them already. And I love that I love them because I didn't like them in the novel at all. I'm already so excited for the second episode, which I'm gonna be watching once I'm done with my posts about Episode 1💃
