Well that was a very nifty build - the Gundam Lfrith from the Witch From Mercury Prologue. A novelty for me in a High Grade, the Lfrith is built with no use of the normal soft plastic polycaps in the joints that are so familiar to Gunpla builders, which translates to making it a very stable kit. I dig the design language that is going on here, with thrusters in the front of the legs as well as the back, and the fin funnels that store in the backpack but can also combine to form a rifle and a shield is a fun gimmick. And of course that chest piece that they’ve somehow pre-moulded with the activated circuitry effect is a very groovy effect. A little bit of Gunpla for this afternoon, building the Entry Grade RX—78-2 (Snow Version) and the Entry Grade RX-93 Nu Gundam. Gotta say, both of these were a lot of fun. The variant colours of the RX-78-2 are really nice, all silvers and pale blues that are a nice change from the traditional colours. That RX-93 though - it’s a bit of a beast! The most recent EG kit it shows how Bandai have something special on their hands. Hell, I even used the 2 stickers it came with for the shoulder & shield markings! I never do that! The only downside is that it doesn’t come with either a blade for the beam sabre or the fin funnels that go on its side and help give it its iconic look. There’s a temptation to look into picking up the older HG any Gundam kit just for the funnels, but I have the Real Grade version in the build pile so might tackle that instead and see if they are cross-compatible… Otherwise though it’s same old same old - both kits look fantastic thanks to the EGs selling point of not requiring stickers or paint, pose niftily (need to get some display bases though for flight posing…), and one final shot of all 3 Entry Grade kits to date, just to highlight what a chunky boy the Nu is…. #gunpla #gunplabuilder #gunplacommunity #gunplaphotography #gunplauk #gundam (at Lyneham, Wiltshire) https://www.instagram.com/p/CcvUYqPtU3T/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

So today has not been a good day - after dragging myself into work yesterday whilst in a staggering amount of pain, today it was just too much. So I’ve spent my day watching Gundam SEED ( the remastered version) on Funimation Now, and building this 1/144 HGCE Infinite Justice kit to focus my mind and fingers. Gotta say it’s another superb kit - joints are wonderfully tight and lots of posability. And I thought that the Gundam Heavyarms was firepower overload - meet the RX-78GP02A, here replacing the nuclear(!) bazooka for for the MLRS system from the Harmony of Gundam game. And you know what, this kit is pretty rad. It’s a lot of species, and makes a very chunky slab of mecha, but it’s surprisingly articulated for a mech you would think would just be the carriage for whatever weapon system is bolted onto it. I’ve used all the included stickers, but if you were to opt for paint there is lots of lovely sculpted detail to play with, and just look at that headsculpt. Because sometimes there’s no such thing as “too many guns”, the Gundam Heavyarms. Part of the 1/144 HGAC ‘revive’ line, this was a nice simple build that really captures the look of Gundam Wings fire support mech. For a change I used a few of the included stickers, beyond just the eyes and head sensors, and I’m fairly impressed with the results.
