Dating Team Levi Headcanons pt.1

Summary: Relationship headcanons for the Special Operations Squad (Team Levi). Pt.1 includes the original squad; Eld Gin, Petra Ral, Gunter Schultz, and Auruo Bossard. 

Warnings: None.

Notes: The original team Levi deserves so much more love imo, they’re such awesome chars. That being said, I’ll be posting pt. 2 with new team Levi, and Levi himself, soon! I did my best to make sure these hc’s were gender neutral, and applicable to everyone. And I’d be happy to do some more in depth hc’s for a specific character, so feel free to send in a request! Hope you enjoy <3

- OG Team Levi - 

Eld Gin

- Eld Gin is a sweet, and caring, lover. 

- He’s not very into PDA, but will hold your hand or put his arm around you.

- Behind closed doors, Eld is such a sweetheart. He’s very affectionate, and pretty much wrapped around your finger. He’ll do just about anything to make you smile, and enjoys winding down with you after a hard day.

- Eld loves sitting with you at the end of the day, talking and holding each other close. He likes to have you in his arms, as a reminder that you are there, that the two of you have survived another day together.

- He’s always sure to remind you how much he loves you, and how important you are to him.

- He’s secretly a huge cuddle bug and loves spending down time with you wrapped in his arms, or sitting in his lap.

- Eld loves kissing you on the forehead/top of the head.

- I don’t find Eld to be the type to argue very often, especially not over something small. He’s pretty laid back. However, I do see him being pretty stubborn. 

- The two of you may argue over one another’s safety, but at the end of the day, it’s only because you care for one another so much.

- He isn’t the overly jealous type, but Eld will certainly make it known that you’re taken, if he thinks someone is being a little too friendly with his s/o.

- Eld takes his position with his squad very seriously, but also knows when to put business aside and enjoy your company.

- If you are a part of Team Levi, Eld would be as protective of you during missions as possible. He trusts your ability - he would trust you with his life - but if anything happened to you, especially on his watch, he would be absolutely devastated.

- If you aren’t a part of Team Levi, Eld will be able to push his worry to the back of his mind and focus on the task at hand. But he won’t rest well until you are back in his arms, safe and sound. 

- Once he knows you’re safe, it feels like a weight has been lifted off his shoulders. He’ll hold you extra close that night.

Petra Ral

- Petra isn’t afraid to show her love for you, and she’s definitely not afraid of a little PDA. You two are practically attached at the hip!

- Petra is sweet as sugar, and would do anything for you. She’s gentle, and kind, but also fiercely protective. 

- If anyone so much as looks at you wrong, Petra’s on top of it, and they’ll be sorry they ever did. You always find it funny, how scary she can be, when she’s such a sweetheart to you.

- Petra is somewhat of a worrier; when you’re on missions/expeditions away from each other, she’s always worried sick, and oftentimes her comrades will gently, but firmly, remind her of how capable and strong you are (she already knows this, of course, but she can’t help but worry).

- Trust is extremely important to Petra, and she sometimes will need reassurance from you. She will also go out of her way to show you she trusts you, in small ways, because of how important this is to her.

- Petra loves coming up behind you and scaring you, wrapping her arms around your waist and laughing when you’re startled. She especially loves to do this in front of people, because she loves to see you blush.

- She loves giving you kisses on the cheek, and loves holding your hand. 

- She also loves tickling you, when you least expect it. 

- Honestly, Petra just loves any second of joy and playfulness, that can distract you from the weight on your shoulders.

- When you sleep, she likes to hold your hand tight, and presses your hand to her lips. She likes having you close, and feeling her warm breath on the back of your hand calms you.

- If you are a part of Team Levi, Petra will always watch out for you during combat, and you do the same.

- Expect lots of tight hugs, and kisses, after a fight. Nothing reassures her more than having you in her arms.

Gunter Schultz 

- Gunter is pretty soft spoken, compared to the rest of his squad. 

- He tends to show his love for you in more unspoken ways (think small acts of service).

- He’s not really a fan of PDA, and won’t go much farther than holding your hand here or there, like during a meal.

- But behind closed doors, Gunter loves to cuddle up to you and is a big ol’ softie!

- Gunter isn’t very jealous of others, but when he does get jealous he tends to get insecure rather than be angry.

- Sometimes, you just have to remind him how much you adore him! 

- Gunter is pretty good at hiding it if he’s worried about you, but can always tell how much more relaxed he is with you around.

- Whether you are a part of Team Levi or not, Gunter doesn’t tend to worry about you too much. He’s very confident in your abilities, and finds it better for the both of you to focus on your mission, rather than be distracted by your worry for the others safety.

- At the end of the day, Gunter likes to lay with you and talk about how your day went, and about what the future could hold. 

Auruo Bossard 

- If you’re in a relationship with Auruo, you’ve got your hands full, so get ready!

- He’s not shy, and proud of his relationship, so he’s definitely not opposed to PDA!

- He’s just as proud of you as he is of himself, and wants to show you off as his s/o! (He also wants to make sure everyone knows you’re taken).

- He’s a big of a bragger, and if he’s not talking about himself, he’s talking about you!

- Underneath the front he puts on, though, you know he’s a really sweet guy. He’s not always as loud and proud as he appears to be. In fact, when it’s just the two of you, he can pretty laid back.

- Over time you learn that Auruo is just as scared, and afraid to lose the people he cares for, as everyone else. He’s very hard on himself, you, and those he cares about because he values your safety over everything. 

- Even though Auruo can get on your nerves, and you two may argue over small things (he’s so stubborn, and never wants to admit he’s wrong!), you still love each other very much, and no one can doubt that.

AU where the Levi Squad didn't die. During the Attack on Liberio, when Eren boards the airship, the Levi Squad stares down at him at disgust for his actions of killing many people.

Eren knows them even better than himself. They are, after all, his family. Not by blood, of course. Most of his real family are dead and gone. The ones that remain are…well, it’s a bit complicated. But Squad Levi was a family that was given to him, plucked from the sky and dropped into his lap four years ago, almost five, and after leaving them for months with not even a note regarding his whereabouts, he supposes now is as good as any other for a family reunion.

It is not a happy reunion. How can it be when he left without telling them anything? Or the burning buildings beneath them? Or the war that he has just started looming over the horizon? No, this is a reunion without smiles, laughs, or warm embraces. But Eren expects that just like he expects the boot coming directly for his face as soon as he climbs aboard the airship. He just doesn’t expect it to hurt so much.

Buildings crumble beneath them and the crackling of fire mingles with the screams of the innocent down below, but those in the airship remain silent. The only sound in the room is the sound of Captain Levi’s boot repeatedly smashing into Eren’s face and Eren’s muffled groans. From the corner of his eye, Eren can see Mikasa start towards them, reaching out to pull the captain back, until Armin puts a gentle hand on her shoulder, signaling her to retreat which she reluctantly does. As for the rest of his family…when the captain is finally finished punishing Eren, the soldier lifts his head to see the rest of their original squad – Petra, Auruo, Gunter, and Eld – standing there with their faces almost as expressionless as their captain’s. Ah, but it’s not as if he needs to read their faces to know how they feel.

Petra stands in the center, her hands clenched into fists and her arms wrapped tightly around her. Unlike the others, she doesn’t look at Eren. Instead, her gaze is fixed on the floor. Eren knows exactly what he’ll see when their gazes finally meet – disappointment, horror, disgust.

His gaze shifts to Auruo, who stands beside Petra, an arm wrapped protectively around his comrade. His face, usually sporting an arrogant smirk, is uncharacteristically cold and stony. Hadn’t it been just a year ago when he had brought Eren to a family dinner of his, treated him like one of his own brothers? Now his eyes are filled with a loathing only reserved for the worst people.

Of the four, Gunter looks the most heartbroken, his neutral mask barely hiding his true feelings. Then again, he had always been the softest one on the team, offering a hand to Eren when he noticed the boy was lagging behind during training. The others are probably unwilling to listen to an explanation, but Gunter looks confused, desperate to understand how Eren could do such a thing. It’s a pity he’ll never know. Eren would tell him, but it’s not as if the man would ever understand.

Eld wears his mask better than all of them, but Eren can see that the second-in-command is livid. His usually warm brown eyes are filled with rage. He had seen this man annoyed before, angry but only for a short period of time, and this is the first time he’s seen him absolutely furious. Eren supposes that it’s a good thing that Levi had gotten to him first or else the entire squad would have gone after him.

Eren tastes the blood and bile in his mouth and swallows it down to offer his old squad a crooked smile, but none of them smile back. “It’s good to see you guys, too,” he tells them. “I take it that you got my letter, then?”

Petra opens her mouth to reply, but it’s Auruo who speaks first.

“Eren, what the fuck?” the man says, his mask finally slipping. His face is twisted in disgust at the man before them. “Do you know what you’ve done?”

“I’m very well aware,” Eren replies. His tone is so even compared to Auruo’s, whose voice is choked back with tears. He watches as their masks slip even further, their rage building as they hear how casually he replies. It’s as if he’s commenting about the weather rather than discussing the destruction he had just dealt a city of innocents.

“You killed people, Eren,” Gunter whispers, his voice hoarse. While the others are furious, he’s pleading with him, lowering himself down so that he’s almost eye-level with Eren as if this will help him see from the other soldier’s perspective. “Innocent people. Eren, how could you?”

“Schultz, stand down,” his captain commands, but it’s only when Eld pulls Gunter back that the soldier retreats.

Eld steps forward, his mask gone entirely now. His expression is lethal; he’s ready to strike the soldier before him. “Why did you do it, Eren?” he asks through gritted teeth. He reaches out, pulling Eren up from his hair and lifting him up. “You’ve caused so much pain to everybody…but you’ve dragged us into it as well. Why?”

“I made a choice,” Eren says. He doesn’t flinch when Eld yanks at his hair even harder. “It’s the same as you when you followed me here. I didn’t force you to come to Liberio. You made that choice.”

“Because you sent that letter,” Petra says. Auruo tries to hold her back, but she shoves him aside and makes her way to Eren. There is hurt in her eyes, disbelief that he roped them all into this. “Because you asked us to come for you…and we trusted you.” Trusted him not to cause a fight, trusted him not to start a battle, trusted him not to force them into a war.

“And I knew you would come…because I trust you,” he tells them. And used you…It is these last unspoken words, words that Eren does not have to say out loud, that horrifies them the most. As his words sink in, he watches as their eyes widen in shock and disgust as they realize his betrayal.

He had thought that Eld would be the one to hit him, but Petra is the one that reaches him first. Her open hand hits him across his cheek, leaving a terrible sting in its place. For some reason, it hurts even more than any blow the others could have dealt him. The side of his face feels as if it’s in flames.  

His head drops to the floor when Eld lets go of him. Eren watches as the others pull Petra back. It takes the entire squad to restrain her while the Captain simply looks down on Eren, completely repulsed. He stares back, tears stinging the corners of his eyes from the pain blooming across his cheek, but he doesn’t cry. It’s a choice he had to make, and he doesn’t regret it. Not at all.
